● Establish and refine design standards, processes, and documentation
● Oversee concepting, development, and validation of mechanical and electrical systems
● Own and evolve the design architecture strategy for grinding system products
● Drive CAD system optimization and ERP-integrated BOM workflows
● Align design strategy with Sales, Ops, Supply Chain, and Quality to meet market
demands
● Build, mentor, and develop a high-performance engineering team
● Monitor industry trends and tools—be a driver of innovation, not just a follower
● Manage budgets, timelines, technical documentation, and strategic investments related
to design
● Serve as the technical escalation point and design quality gatekeeper

● Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required
● 7–10 years of engineering experience, including 3–5 years in a leadership capacity
● Deep technical fluency in design fundamentals, physics, and mechanical/electrical
systems
● Experience designing and leading projects in capital equipment, machinery, or industrial
systems
● Proven track record of delivering complex systems on-time, on-budget, and to spec
● Strong understanding of CAD, PDM, ERP, and BOM workflows
● Comfort with both strategic design architecture and hands-on troubleshooting
● Clear, confident communicator with the ability to align stakeholders across departments
● Bonus points for Lean, DFM/A, or continuous improvement experience
