Job Description

This role is responsible for layout surveying and quality inspections using XYZ's Augmented Reality device, the ATOM, on long term Mission Critical / Data Centre schemes.

Site Engineer Opportunity

As an Engineer/Surveyor at XYZ, you'll be utilising Augmented Reality alongside your existing knowledge to eliminate construction errors, which would otherwise lead to costly and time-consuming rework. You’ll be our clients point of contact onsite and will help them to install correctly the first time with your use of the ATOM.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily site inspections using the Atom (Augmented Reality headset) to ensure works are installed correctly, as per the BIM Model.

  • Using a robotic total station, establish and maintain our primary control network on site for the longevity of the project.

  • Produce reports and subsequent deliverables based on the inspections from that day.

  • Attend meetings to coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to plan daily activities.

  • Process and review all acquired data to ensure it is accurate and reliable.

  • Ensure all requested inspections are conducted within the specified time frame.

  • Work with the client to conduct weekly lookahead of inspections in line with their construction programme in order to de-risk incorrect installation from taking place in the field.

  • Obtain and prepare the latest approved Revit models from contractors to export into HoloSite in line with the master construction programme.

  • Report remotely to the Project Delivery Manager to ensure that all deliverables meet the highest standard before submission.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Field Engineering / Surveying Experience Required - i.e construction layout, topographic, land surveying, geodetic, geometric or geospatial works.

  • The ability to operate a Robotic Total Station to establish / traverse control points

  • Happy to work independently (only rep on site)

  • Knowledge and working experience of 3D / BIM / BIM360 / Revit / Navisworks would be beneficial but can be taught if not

  • Confident in using Microsoft Office - Word & Excel

  • Full clean driving license and vehicle due to location of projects

  • US Citizen / holds the right to live and work in the USA without VISA sponsorship (i.e has a green card)

  • Clean criminal record essential (background checks occur every 6 months)
