GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
The Events and Donor Relations Manager manages organization fundraising and other special events in conjunction with volunteer and other committees; works to secure and cultivate corporate sponsorships, attends and represents SKSF at select events and expos; coordinates development projects and initiatives for the organization including research and database entry; collaborates on the design and production of event literature, social media and written communication related to fundraising activities and events. Contributes to organizational strategic communications including emergency weather alerts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and manages primary fundraisers to include securing: the venue, event sponsors, entertainment, and managing all aspects of the planning process; recruits for and manages volunteer committee (as applicable), and all other facets of the assigned events.
- Facilitates/supports donor cultivation, public relations, education, third-party fundraisers and events assigned.
- Collaborates in the creation of regular sustained membership drive fundraising mailings.
- Manages various giving campaigns including End of Year, Giving Tuesday/CO Gives Day, Mail Campaign, Planned Giving efforts, and more.
- Follows up with designated donor category correspondence (calls, emails, texts, etc.) particularly corporate sponsorships; documents all correspondence in constituent database system.
- Compiles mailing list(s) via database management and assists with various correspondence including: eNewsletter distribution, email blasts, annual report and written communications.
- Helps drive event participation, fundraising, organizational services and other initiatives through web tools and online media while striving to increase and expand online audience.
- Strategic Communications – serves as primary for emergency weather alerts process (as needed).
- Encourages staff/volunteer engagement to maintain updated and relevant social media including Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. and other tools/applications; Encourage dialogue among stakeholders and promotes interaction with SKSF.
- Tracks, reports, and analyzes results data, and provides recommendations regarding fundraising events and other campaigns.
- Regularly represents and attends on behalf of SKSF, select community and workplace information fairs, community expos, and other events and happenings.
- Supports and collaborates with marketing team members for revenue growth through various tools including improving online and monthly fundraising efforts.
- Serves as primary user to collect donor information and maintain donor database and donor acknowledgment letters.
- Promotes and increases organizational awareness through networking, professional partner and sponsor development/cultivation.
- Manages event staff and events committee to coordinate donors, volunteers and other events related to Development efforts.
- Facilitates/supports donor cultivation, public relations, education, third-party fundraisers and events assigned.
- Assist in running development reports and mailing lists as needed.
- Collaborates with the HR team on various facets of volunteer efforts including (but not limited to) recruitment, screening, onboarding, coordinating (training, assigning), oversight, and leading appreciation initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
DESIRABLE, PREFERRED, OR SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Passion for SKSF mission. Exhibit high energy and “can-do” spirit. Strong interpersonal skills to work with donors/sponsors/community partners. Ability to work flexible hours. Demonstrate responsiveness and sensitivity to cultural differences. High level of integrity and dependability with strong sense of urgency. Results oriented. Problem solving, creative skills and ability to exercise sound judgment. Ability to communicate with all staff levels of organization. Three years of event planning experience highly preferred. Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to work with little supervision Excellent public relations and communication skills required, including both written and oral skills. Strong communication skills are needed to relay information to other departments, manager with clarity and respect. Possess the ability to multi-task and work well within a team environment. High attention to detail required Must be able to work some weekends and evenings as required. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Property Management system. DonorSnap, Canva, and various Design software is a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires standing, sitting and walking for periods of time. Utilization of hands and fingers to perform tasks necessary. Must be able to reach with hands and arms, talk, hear, taste, smell and stoop, kneel or crouch if needed.
WEIGHT DEMANDS
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
