We’re seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team and support a full range of HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, payroll, benefits administration, and compliance.
As an integral part of our HR team, you’ll partner with employees and management across departments, ensuring a positive workplace culture and smooth execution of HR operations.
- Act as a liaison between employees and management, ensuring clear communication of HR policies, procedures, labor laws, and standards.
- Address and resolve employee relations issues including complaints, harassment concerns, and civil rights matters.
- Facilitate and deliver employee training, including onboarding and orientation.
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process: source, interview, and hire candidates for entry-level and professional roles.
- Process and review background checks to ensure compliance during hiring.
- Conduct new hire orientation and enter employee data into HR systems.
- Provide employee support on HR policies, procedures, and benefit programs.
- Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
- Support bi-weekly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Maintain payroll records and generate reports for HR and accounting departments.
- Administer employee leaves (FMLA, ADA, NYPFL, Workers’ Compensation, etc.) and coordinate with third-party providers.
- Serve as the primary contact for employees on leave of absence.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field
- SHRM-CP certification (or willingness to obtain within one year of hire)
- Valid, unrestricted NYS driver’s license
- Ability to travel frequently between agency locations
- Must pass a criminal background check and fingerprint examination
