Sourgum Jersey City Full-time
$80,000
per year

Job Description

Sourgum is transforming the $100B+ waste and recycling industry through cutting-edge technology that makes waste removal simpler, smarter, and more cost-effective. Our innovative haulsourcing platform powers high-quality waste and recycling services for businesses at significantly lower costs—saving our customers an average of 20%. Leveraging proprietary datasets, an advanced operating system, and a carefully curated network of 5,000+ trusted vendors, we help companies of all shapes and sizes streamline their operations while advancing sustainability efforts.

We’re a fast-growing, venture-backed company (just closed our Series A!) on a mission to modernize an outdated industry — and we’re just getting started. Our investors include Spark Capital, Founder Collective, Suffolk Technologies, 186 Ventures, and River Park Ventures, the same funds that backed category-defining companies like Slack, Anthropic, Uber, Venmo, and Amazon Pharmacy.

If you’re driven by the opportunity to build something groundbreaking, we’d love to meet you.

The Role:

We’re looking for a Content Marketing Manager who’s equal parts strategist, storyteller, and doer. This is a high-impact, individual contributor role where you'll own and execute content marketing from the ground up—crafting compelling campaigns, shaping our brand voice, and helping drive qualified pipeline in a fast-growing B2B startup.

As the first dedicated content marketer on the team, you'll wear many hats: writing thought leadership pieces, producing demand gen content, building SEO-optimized web pages, and collaborating across product, sales, and design. If you're energized by startup culture, comfortable operating autonomously, and excited to roll up your sleeves and make things happen—this role is for you.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Own Content Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute a content strategy aligned to demand gen goals—producing blog posts, case studies, email nurture sequences, landing pages, whitepapers, and more.

  • Build and Manage Campaign Content: Support product launches, sales initiatives, and go-to-market efforts by crafting content that drives awareness, engagement, and conversions.

  • Shape Brand Voice: Help define and evolve our tone, messaging, and positioning to better connect with technical B2B buyers.

  • Drive Organic Growth: Manage SEO efforts, optimize existing content, and collaborate with growth and product teams to increase visibility and site performance.

  • Create Sales Enablement Assets: Develop materials that help sales convert, including one-pagers, presentation decks, and customer-facing collateral.

  • Analyze & Iterate: Use performance data to measure content effectiveness, report on KPIs, and iterate content strategy based on what works.

  • Be a Content Swiss Army Knife: Whether it’s drafting a founder op-ed, designing a one-pager, or helping out with event prep—you’re ready to pitch in wherever content is needed.

The qualifications you need:

  • 3–5+ years of B2B content marketing experience, ideally within SaaS or a tech-forward company

  • Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, engaging content

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and content formats simultaneously, from blog posts to gated assets to web pages

  • Strong understanding of SEO best practices and marketing analytics

  • Familiarity with tools like HubSpot, GA4, Webflow, Canva, and project management platforms

  • A self-starter attitude with comfort navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities

  • Collaborative and resourceful - you know how to get things done with limited resources

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an early-stage startup environment

  • Exposure to Account-Based Marketing (ABM)

  • Comfort working directly with founders, product teams, and sales

  • Design skills or comfort editing visuals in Canva, Figma, or similar tools

Benefits

  • Company stock options are part of your compensation package, giving you the opportunity to share in our company's success and build long-term financial growth.

  • A positive and collaborative work environment with a focus on innovation and sustainability.

  • Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, vision), retirement plans (401K), and generous paid time off.

  • Opportunities for professional development and career advancement within a growing company.
