Position Overview

Round Hill Partners is seeking an experienced accounting professional to serve as an Advisor for our accounting practice acquisition strategy. This senior role combines industry expertise, strategic advisory capabilities, and hands-on due diligence support. The Advisor will leverage deep accounting industry knowledge to identify, evaluate, and support the acquisition of high-quality accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Advisory

  • Provide industry expertise and market insights for acquisition strategy development

  • Identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets within the accounting services sector

  • Advise on market trends, valuation benchmarks, and competitive dynamics

  • Support deal sourcing through industry networks and relationships

Due Diligence Leadership

  • Lead comprehensive due diligence processes for target accounting firms

  • Analyze financial performance, client portfolios, and operational efficiency

  • Assess staff capabilities, retention risks, and cultural fit

  • Review compliance records, professional standards adherence, and regulatory standing

  • Evaluate technology infrastructure and modernization opportunities

Deal Support

  • Prepare detailed investment recommendations and risk assessments

  • Support valuation analyses and negotiation strategies

  • Collaborate with legal and financial teams throughout transaction processes

  • Develop integration roadmaps and transition planning frameworks

Portfolio Management

  • Provide ongoing advisory support to acquired practices

  • Monitor performance metrics and identify optimization opportunities

  • Share best practices and industry benchmarks across portfolio companies

  • Support strategic initiatives and growth planning efforts

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification (active and in good standing)

  • 10+ years of progressive public accounting experience

  • 5+ years in senior leadership roles (partner, managing director, or practice leader)

  • Experience with practice mergers, acquisitions, or transitions

  • Strong network within the accounting services industry

  • Proven track record in business development and practice growth

Technical Skills

  • Deep expertise across core accounting services (tax, audit, advisory)

  • Advanced financial analysis and valuation capabilities

  • Proficiency with practice management systems and accounting software

  • Strong understanding of accounting industry regulations and standards

  • Excel mastery and financial modeling experience

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking abilities
