DIRECTOR, ACCOUNT LEADERSHIP

A fast-growing vertical within Orchard, Orchard’s Senior Marketing business unit is seeking an energetic and collaborative Account Leadership Director who is responsible for strategic oversight and management performance-focused, integrated marketing programs. With a heavy emphasis on lead generation to drive quality inquiries, the ideal candidate has a depth of experience in leading end-to end programs in digital media, traditional marketing, email and direct mail, web design, and analytics.  An Account Leadership Director at Orchard Senior Marketing understands the importance of brand, the pressure of competition, and how to lead effective communications plans that generate results.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director, Account Leadership reports to the VP, Account Leadership within the Senior Marketing business unit. Responsibilities for this role include:


Strategic Business Lead 

• Serves as assigned client’s and prospect’s primary strategic partner, deeply understanding their business goals, market, competition, and internal dynamics, translating business objectives into integrated marketing strategies and clear scopes of work. 

• Sets and communicates clear priorities to cross-functional internal teams, ensuring all work ladders up to client goals and agency standards. 

• Facilitates strategic discussions with clients and internal teams.


Agency Ambassador 

• Champions the agency’s value by articulating its capabilities, talent, and strategic thinking. 

• Proactively introduces cross-functional solutions to meet evolving client needs. 

• Leads scope and pricing negotiations to ensure both client value and agency sustainability. 

• Identifies and pursues opportunities to grow the agency’s footprint within the client’s business. 


Client Relationship Management 

• Builds trusted relationships with client stakeholders and understands the internal dynamics that shape decisions. 

• Communicates proactively to keep clients informed, aligned, and confident in the work. 

• Anticipates needs and addresses issues early, resolving conflicts with professionalism and accountability. 


Work Quality 

• Reviews all work to ensure it meets strategic and client expectations before delivery. 

• Pushes the team toward excellence, challenging thinking and elevating output. 

• Balances client perspective with agency POV to guide the work forward. 

• Leads post-delivery reviews to identify learnings and continuously raise the bar. 


Team Leadership & Internal Collaboration 

• Models professionalism and a solutions-first mindset in how teams engage with clients and each other. 

• Mentors team members, building skills in communication, strategy, and ownership. 

• Collaborates across departments and with PM to ensure timelines, scopes, and delivery are aligned and efficient. 

• Drives internal cohesion by breaking silos and fostering shared accountability. 


External Results & Accountability 

• Owns delivery against client goals, measuring performance, interpreting results, and recommending improvements. 

• Partners with Analytics to review campaign outcomes and surface optimizations or learnings. 

• Sets clear expectations with clients and internal teams and follows through. 

• Leads business reviews to reinforce impact, strengthen partnerships, and identify growth opportunities. 


Internal Results & Accountability 

• Oversees account financial health, monitoring revenue, hours pacing, and scope adherence in partnership with PM and Finance. 

• Ensures scopes, staffing, and timelines are aligned to deliver work effectively and profitably. 

• Refocuses teams when priorities shift and steps in to resolve delivery risks or client misalignment. 

• Builds operational rigor within the team by modeling strong financial stewardship and coaching others to do the same. 


REQUIREMENTS

• 7+ years of agency experience

• Advertising Agency experience required

• Strong understanding of Digital Marketing and multi-channel tactics 

• Familiarity with Traditional Media, Event-Based Marketing, and Direct Mail 

• Web and Tech savvy – proven proficiency rolling up sleeves to look high-level in digital platforms

• Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred

• Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
