Salary Range- $51,000.00-$56,000.00

JOB SUMMARY

The Apportionment & Revenue Accountant is assigned responsibilities that support the Apportionment & Revenue (A&R) group by assisting in the organization of financial documents and implementation of efficient accounting procedures in order to improve the financial health of the Oklahoma Tax Commission (OTC).   

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review of financial data, including revenue allocations and disbursement reports

  • Assist in the preparation of apportionment reports, comparative financial reports, disbursement reports, statistical data, and other information concerning financial requirements

  • Aid in the maintenance of various ledgers, journals, registers and other fiscal records; allocates revenues to appropriate functions; classifies disbursements and posts to various accounts as required

  • Balance and disburse monthly apportionment, and processes other disbursements during the month including Gross Production refunds, Unclaimed Property transfer, and transfers to the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.

  • Create and send monthly apportionment reports and perform recordkeeping of apportionment processes

  • Review daily ONUS state agency disbursement files

  • Track and update records for all refund recalls and reversals

  • Assist in the annual update of apportionment data cubes for census and legislative info; assist in updating the year-to-date reports

  • Fund the agency special account for income tax refunds throughout each month

  • Receive and process daily requests for refund recalls (debit card and deposit), including sending requests to the Treasurer’s Office and the Debit Card provider, posting Treasury recall claims, and notifying all parties of successful recalls to be worked

  • Confirm new and updated banking information for Gross Production refunds

  • Support the division with other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, business management, public administration, or closely related field;

  • PLUS, one (1) year of professional experience in auditing, accounting, or similar field

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business management, public administration, or closely related field;

  • PLUS, two (2) or more years of professional experience in auditing, accounting, or similar field

 

PHYSICAL DEMAND

Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Exhibit manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate a computer, keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Ability to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids. Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels, with or without the use of aids. Ability to communicate clearly. Physical ability to lift up to 15 pounds, to bend, stoop, climb stairs, walk and reach. Duties are normally performed in an office environment with a moderate noise level.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Oklahoma Tax Commission’s normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm.  This schedule may require minor flexibility based on the needs of the agency.

 

The primary work location will be on-site at the Oklahoma Tax Commission. Occasionally, telework may be requested based on the needs of the agency, division, and section.  If applicable, applicant must be willing and able to work on-site with occasional telework at an off-site location, generally in the applicant’s home.  To work remotely, an applicant must have a secure internet connection and a dedicated telephone (landline) or smart phone device during scheduled working hours.
