The anticipated salary for this position starts at $82,500+. The final pay will be determined based on several factors, including qualifications, experience, education, and years within the job or industry, with a strong emphasis on maintaining internal equity.

What we are looking for:
As a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer, you’ll play a vital role in? KU Endowment’s overall Information Systems team. We are a data mission critical organization looking for an individual who can help us continually improve and enhance our Marketing Cloud platform and drive its value back to our fundraisers. The role is part of our larger information systems department and will be key in providing highly available services to our staff. This is a collaborative solutions engineer who can work with teammates and stakeholders at all levels of the organization to optimize our use of data towards the mission of KU Endowment.

Hybrid Work Environment:
Following the initial training period, this position offers a hybrid work schedule, with the flexibility to work remotely for part of the week. However, the role requires multiple days per week on-site at our Lawrence, KS office to ensure effective collaboration, team engagement, and alignment with organizational goals.
What’s a typical day look like?
- Providing technical expertise in Email Studio, Journey Builder/Automation Studio, Automation Studio, and Mobile Studio
- In partnership with Product Owner, Deliver new features to users via a standard release cycle.
- Create and update AMPscript and SSJS for custom scripts to personalize email landing pages and dynamic content.
- Manage Salesforce Marketing Cloud security by establishing a proactive process to protect our critical constituent data.
- Proactively troubleshoot and resolve issues or bugs in Marketing Cloud platform.
- Build and maintain automated workflows for data imports, extracts and triggered communications.
- Develop landing pages and microsites using HTML, CSS and AMPscript.
- Write SQL queries to segment audiences and manipulate data
- Ensure system availability through break fix and enhancements to resolve any application bugs or issues.
- Develop and support integrations with multiple mission critical systems using middleware/API
- Keeps team up to date with Salesforce Marketing Cloud releases and new features to recommend enhancements to the Product Owner and team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects and initiatives.
- Collaborate on Quality assurance to test and debug work before production deployment.
- Following Salesforce best practices and data quality.
- Deliver technical documentation.
What’s required to be considered:
- Minimum three to five years’ experience in Salesforce/Marketing Cloud implementation and operations
- Bachelor’s Degree OR five years’ experience working on a Salesforce product team.
- Two or more years' experience in Agile practices
- Certified Marketing Cloud Engagement Developer
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with product stakeholders, scrum masters, trainers, and business analysts to translate needs into technical requirements
- Experience with Salesforce middleware and APIs.
- Experience with tools such as Gearset, Jira, Confluence or similar.
- Creative problem solving and analytical thinking with the ability to communicate through a variety of channels with colleagues effectively.
What separates the best from the rest?
- Working knowledge of non-profit or higher education fundraising.
- Experience with non-profit fundraising Salesforce Sales Cloud-based applications such as Ascend, Affinaquest, or similar.
Physical Requirements
- A valid driver’s license.
- Must have access to reliable transportation to travel between multiple locations for training, donor meetings, networking, events and/or work-related activities.
- Must be able to respond quickly and effectively to directions and safety hazards.
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office productivity machinery such as computers, keyboards and a mouse, laptops, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to move files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
- The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- The person in this position frequently communicates with colleagues. Must be able to communicate with others effectively.
- Physical effort/lifting, such as sedentary- up to 10 pounds.
