Step into a pivotal role as a Relationship Banker II, where you'll be at the forefront of delivering exceptional financial services and building lasting connections with our valued clients. Your knack for understanding client needs and offering personalized solutions will ensure a seamless banking journey.
Please note that this position may cover Branch locations on the Southshore and may include but is not limited to Terrytown, Elmwood, Harvey, New Orleans, Metairie, Chalmette, and Kenner.
Responsibilities
- Be the welcoming face for clients entering the branch, interpreting their financial needs with precision and warmth.
- Actively listen and engage with clients to introduce relevant products and services to enhance their banking experience.
- Provide insightful advice on financial products, clearly explaining their benefits and any potential drawbacks to empower clients in decision-making.
- Actively seek new business development opportunities by leveraging networking opportunities and leads to grow and maintain a robust portfolio of clients.
- Tailor solutions to match the unique financial circumstances and aspirations of each client.
- Efficiently manage the opening and maintenance of accounts, ensuring accurate information and swift service.
- Oversee client accounts vigilantly, addressing any issues proactively or through appropriate referrals.
- Tackle client problems head-on with a solutions-oriented mindset or guide them to the right team member for specialized assistance.
- Utilize your problem-solving skills to enhance client satisfaction and trust.
- Identify and leverage opportunities to cross-sell products that align with client profiles, boosting both client benefit and bank growth.
- Collaborate seamlessly with team members and business partners to maximize referral potential.
- Uphold stringent security measures and ensure all transactions and processes meet regulatory standards, including CIP and BSA.
- Assist in various operational tasks such as check ordering, teller terminal operations, and maintaining vault balance.
- Support branch logistics including opening, closing, and loan processing tasks as required.
- Stay ahead in your role by annually passing the Gulf Coast Bank & Trust Relationship Banker exam, showcasing your commitment to professional growth.
- Perform other duties related to your position as assigned or directed by the management/leadership team.
Requirements
Skills/Experience/Education
- Highschool diploma or equivalency, required. An Associates or Bachelor’s degree is advantageous.
- A minimum of 5 years in banking experience focused on business development, demonstrating a proven track record in roles like financial services representative or personal banker. Proven success in a sales focused role and industry may be considered.
- Demonstrated ability in sales with a keen eye for identifying and seizing sales opportunities.
- Proficient in adapting product features to suit diverse client needs with ease.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, coupled with a robust customer service ethos.
- Tech-savvy with competence in operating computers and other office equipment.
- Maintain a professional demeanor with strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive under pressure.
Essential Mental & Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions.
- Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
- Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer may be required.
- Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 15 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division any “undue hardship” then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
