The Duke Endowment is seeking a Program Analyst for the Health Care program.  In this role you will support the team by conducting due diligence, analyzing grantmaking strategies, and performing ongoing research and analysis to inform program strategy.  Your work will help demonstrate the impact of funding strategies and advance efforts to reduce health care disparities across the Carolinas.

   

  

What you will do: 

  • Conduct research, analyze, and draft reports and data visualizations to support the Health Care program.
    • Prepare summaries, white papers, and reports for various audiences, including Trustees.
    • Support the team in analyzing healthcare initiatives for financial feasibility, sustainability, and community impact.
    • Stay informed on emerging trends, best practices, and innovations in healthcare sector, leveraging this knowledge to support the Heath Care team’s strategy development and decision-making.
  •   Conduct due diligence and ensure the integrity of grantmaking data in various information systems.    
  • Support and advance data evaluation and communications priorities to demonstrate progress in reducing healthcare disparities.  
    • Monitor grant results and collaborate with Evaluation and Health Care teams to analyze and assess the impact of grantmaking activities and to propose course corrections/new approaches as needed.
    • Collaborate with the Health Care team to ensure relevant data is captured and analyzed to demonstrate progress toward reducing health care disparities.
    • Collaborate with the Health Care and Communications teams to ‘tell the story" of Health Care’s grantmaking, both qualitatively and quantitatively.
  •   Support, and engage in, relationship-building with grantees.                                                                                                                          

       o Assist with convening meetings and conferences for grantees.  

       o Support program staff with the coordination of ongoing technical assistance and implementation support of established

          initiatives and future multi-site pilots and demonstrations.

  •  Develop internal and external relationships to advance Health Care program priorities and contribute to the overall culture of TDE. 

o Represent the Endowment in relationships with grantees and participate in meetings with other philanthropic organizations at state and national meetings.

o Participate in intra-Endowment committees and special projects as appropriate.



Requirements

  

What You Need:

  • A graduate degree in a relevant field (such as Public Health, Social Work, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline) and/or at least 2–3   years of related professional experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe/PDF), Blackbaud Grantmaking software, and any relevant technology.
  • Preference for candidates with volunteer or other experience that demonstrates an understanding and appreciation of health care in the Carolinas.
