The Employee Development and Employee Relations Administrator, under direction, manages and oversees activities related to employee training and professional development, provides guidance and support on employee relations matters, and provides routine Human Resources department support.
Salary: $55,000 annually
Responsibilities:
Employee Development
Manages and oversees employee training and professional development functions.
Coordinates and conducts training workshops.
Facilitates and manages leadership/organizational development programs and sessions.
Conducts and presents employee development workshops and presentations using varied educational methods.
Coaches and trains supervisors and employees as needed.
Develops, designs, implements, and evaluates employee development/training courses and maintains employee development web pages.
Assesses organization/employee training and development needs. Identifies solutions toward improved skills development and new learning.
Facilitates development of the annual training plan and budget.
Monitors, evaluates, and records training activities and program effectiveness and ensures compliance with required System, State, and Federal training requirements.
Employee Relations
Provides guidance, advice, and consultation to supervisors, managers, and other administrators on employee relations matters.
Provides guidance and interpretation on human resources (HR) policies and procedures. --Conducts research on best practices, policy, regulation, rules, and laws.
Assists in resolving employee/work related problems. Consults with supervisors and assists in developing employee performance improvement plans. Ensures the confidentiality of employee consultation records.
Manages personnel records training and information resources. Develops and updates guidance and collaborates with others to communicate changes in employee records requirements.
Develops training materials and provides training on employee relations matters. Ensures training materials and resources are current with Federal and State laws, System policies and regulations, and rules
Human Resources Department support
Assists in the creation and/or processing of actions in the HRIS System or related systems.
Assist supervisors and employees with HR-related questions
Maintains knowledge of federal, state, and university rules, regulations, and standard administrative procedures that govern employment.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Education, Training and Development, or Business.
Five years of Employee Development or Employee Relations .
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Knowledge of progressive discipline principles and investigation methodology.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to listen, analyze, negotiate, and develop resolutions to problems.
Ability to facilitate group interactions, trainings, and presentations.
