Schedule: Monday-Friday, Full TIme
Compensation: $140,000-$200,000
The Vice President of Software Development is responsible for directing all software development at QVI. This includes the entire software development lifecycle: software strategy, requirements development, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Role and Responsibilities:
· Provides strategic direction and operational leadership for multiple development and testing teams covering the multiple QVI software products, recruiting and retaining talent to maintain proper cost and delivery goals from the corporation.
· Oversee the end-to-end commercialization of all QVI software products developed utilizing a mix of QVI employees and contracting arrangements with QVI.
· Responsible for the delivery of high-quality, scalable software solutions that align with the corporation’s business objectives and market needs.
· Partners with QVI senior leadership to set product priorities, establish performance metrics, and align software initiatives with corporate strategy.
· Supports the QVI manufacturing teams by resolving system, workflow, and software integration challenges.
· Ensures on-time delivery of software products on schedule as part of a system (e.g. machine) solution or independently.
· Collaborates with the QVI R&D organization for advanced software development that is to be commercialized within QVI commercial software products.
· Maintains regular executive-level communication with QVI senior leadership on project status, challenges, and potential impacts.
· Leads cross-functional collaboration with QVI product managers, business stakeholders, and other departments to understand requirements and align development efforts.
· Drives the software technology used in processes and tools for developing, testing and commercializing QVI software products.
· Owns and manages the software product roadmap, incorporating Voice of the Customer (VOC) and market feedback gathered by internal partners to drive commercialization efforts.
· Sets and manages delivery milestones related to the near-term product planning goals.
· Establishes standards and best practices for software product usability/experience and institute across the QVI software products.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or equivalent is required. Master’s in Engineering or Business Administration strongly preferred.
· Requires 10+ years of progressive leadership experience directing distributed software teams for software products that are tightly integrated with hardware systems.
· Requires 5+ years of hands-on experience developing software applications.
· Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives and delivering commercial software solutions at scale.
· Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to influence diverse stakeholders across cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
· Proven track record of successfully delivering high-quality software products, on-time and within budget.
Physical and/or Environmental Requirements:
This role primarily involves standard office activities, such as extended periods of computer work, occasional standing and walking, and the ability to lift items up to 10 pounds.
The position also requires occasional international travel to remote software development teams, which includes adapting to various time zones and environments. Travel is typically between 5% annually (approximately 2 weeks). While the work is mainly conducted in a typical office setting, visits to diverse locations may involve exposure to different climatic conditions and infrastructure standards.
