Job Description

The Opportunity: 

This role actively contributes to Mattel space and digital shelf strategy and leads space reporting for internal Mattel Sales.  You will manage partnerships with internal Packaging teams, internal Sales teams, external Merchant teams and other partner teams critical to our business success. This job requires the ability to understand and leverage data to influence customer decisions and the ability to build a shelf merchandising plan aligned with Mattel’s strategic vision.

This role will be based in the El Segundo, CA Mattel Headquarters.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

  • Retail: design product mix, placement and store-level strategies that maximize performance
    • Design feature planograms that maximize out-of-aisle opportunities and sell-through
    • Build planograms for key Mattel brands across seasonal milestones
    • Evaluate space to sales performance, highlighting gaps and growth opportunities
  • Organizational Intelligence: design interactive reports that elevate retail awareness at Mattel
    • Bring Space metrics into Mattel’s data infrastructure that elevates organizational understanding of retail space dynamics and sales drivers
    • Clearly highlight opportunities and gaps by analyzing and distributing weekly reports
  • Digital Shelf: manage Mattel’s digital samples process ensuring seamless listing execution
    • Plan and coordinate requesting, maintaining, editing, and delivering digital samples assets to key retail partners
    • Elevate Mattel’s competitiveness as retailers make listing decisions, store employees stock shelves, and shoppers select purchases

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
    • 1-2 years of experience in analytics, graphic design, category management, trade marketing, merchandising, sales forecasting/analysis, consumer and/or sales research
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel required - expert knowledge a plus
    • Familiarity with JDA Space Planning or similar space planning tool a plus
    • Attitude:

      • Common-sense approach to data validation and accountability for accuracy
    • Style:
      • Strong persuasive communication skills with in-person and remote-location audiences
      • Ability to explain complex topics to audiences with varying levels of knowledge
      • Able to work collaboratively with supervisor, adhere to schedules, and follow up accordingly

The annual base salary range for this position is between $72,000 and $93,600.
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience. Mattel offers competitive total pay programs, comprehensive benefits, and resources to help empower a culture where every employee can reach their full potential.
