Description
The Accounting Manager reports to the Senior Manager of Financial Reporting and is based out of our Boardman, Ohio location. This individual is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting audit activities, and driving continuous improvement in accounting processes. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead and support a collaborative finance team.

Responsibilities include:
- Process month and end year process, accounts payable, general ledger, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, check runs, accrued expenses, prepaid accounts,
- Analyze, investigate and reconcile annual and monthly general ledger accounts
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial statements
- Support in the quarter end review and yearend audit processes
- Maintain company internal controls by following policies and procedures, complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounts payable department
- Improve systems and procedures and initiate correction actions
- Meet financial accounting and corporate objectives
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- CPA preferred (MBA in Finance or Accounting acceptable)
- Ability to direct and supervise
- Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
- Ability to meet assigned deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results
- Excellent time management skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a typical office setting; driving a motor vehicle and occasionally working in the field.
FREQUENT: sitting, upward and downward flexion of neck; fine finger dexterity and light to moderate finger pressure to include extended periods of keyboard and mouse use, side-to-side turning of neck, walking, standing, bending and stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting at waist, moderate wrist torque to twist equipment knobs and dials.
OCCASIONAL: squatting, kneeling, reach above and at shoulder height, moderate grasp to manipulate reference books and manuals; lifting objects weighing 20 – 35 lbs. from below waist to above shoulders and transporting distances up to 50 feet.
VISION: Ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction.
HEARING: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction
