Job Description

The Accounting Manager is a vital member of the Health iPass team responsible for enabling the integrated accounting and financial activities at the heart of Health iPass. Within accounting and finance, you will partner with your peers in all departments to focus on financial excellence to ensure we deliver accurate and timely financial reporting. Collaboration across all departments is critical to the success of this role. Responsibilities for the Accounting Manager will include financial functions such as accounts payable and accounts receivable, payroll processing, and financial reporting. A key focus of this role is on maintaining accurate accounting records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and other relevant regulations.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:    

Accounts Receivable:

  • Responsible for issuing invoices to customers for goods and services provided. This includes ensuring that invoices are accurate and sent out promptly to facilitate timely payments.
  • Monitor incoming payments, process transactions and verify all payments are accounted for and properly posted to customer accounts.
  • Customer Communication: Addressing inquiries, resolving billing disputes and following up on overdue payments.

Accounts Payable:

  • Verify, process and record invoices to ensure they match quotes and receipts, avoiding duplicate or unauthorized payments
  • Schedule payments through checks, ACH or wire transfers to uphold financial commitments with vendors.
  • Maintaining up to date vendors: provides, handling contact information and resolving payment-related disputes.

Sales Tax:

  • Compile data, calculate tax liabilities, and submit returns
  • Review sales tax data to ensure compliance with laws and regulations
  • Own any audits by providing necessary documentation with tax authorities

Payroll Processing:

Ensure employees are paid accurately and timely while maintaining records and adhering to compliance requirements.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Account Reconciliation:

  • Reconcile account balances and bank statements, maintain the general ledger and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded.

Audit Preparation:

  • Assist in the preparation for audits by coordinating with external auditors and ensuring that all financial records are in order.

Financial Analysis:

  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement, supporting decision-making processes within the organization.

 

Environment/Conditions

  • This will be fully remote.
  • This is a full-time position. Monday to Friday. Core office hours will be 8 hours within the range of hours. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: interpret financial data, identify issues, and provide resolutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and clearly present financial information.
  • Expertise in compliance with GAAP: understanding and fundamentally applying the standard in financial reporting.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills: ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines and staying organized.
  • Strong adaptability: ability to be flexible and able to adhere to changes in accounting standards while meeting business needs.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, preferred

Target base range of around $90,000 – $102,000 per year plus possible bonus

Actual salaries will vary and be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of Health iPASS' total compensation package for employees.
