Position Overview:
Lead the Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at a premier Las Vegas hospital. Oversee clinical operations, drive evidence-based care, mentor nursing staff, and ensure exceptional outcomes for critically ill newborns and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 24-hour management of the Level III NICU, ensuring patient care meets the standard of care
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff, fostering professional development and a collaborative practice model
- Oversee daily unit operations, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Implement and monitor performance improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
- Support and enforce hospital policies, regulatory compliance, and evidence-based practices
- Serve as a role model for professionalism, service excellence, and teamwork
- Participate in recruitment, retention, and continuing education of staff
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age and needs of NICU patients
Qualifications:
Education: BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) Graduate of accredited nursing program
Licensure: Active Nevada RN license, BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
Experience: 2+ years clinical nursing experience, 1–2 years progressive management experience
Technical Skills: NICU patient care expertise, Staff scheduling/resource allocation, Regulatory compliance
Soft Skills: Leadership and team mentorship, Interdisciplinary collaboration, Performance improvement focus, Service excellence and professionalism
