Job Description
We at Fiberon are currently seeking a Controls Engineer for our plastic extrusion plant location in Meridian, Idaho. This is an exciting position that can yield a great career and help build a business that is primed for growth.
As the Controls Engineer you will perform functions related to controls engineering supporting manufacturing, maintenance and engineering departments with controls necessary to achieve desired results. This role has a wide variety of duties, requiring ability to gain full understanding of production processes and exercise judgment to modify controls to effect desired changes. Plan and prioritize work under general direction with production requirements as primary driver.
Your Role
Provide instruction in operation, set-up, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of plant electrical and control systems.
- Identify, plan and implement electrical and control systems process improvement opportunities.
- Optimize new systems and upgrades to existing processes and facilities.
- Create Programmable Logical Control (PLC) programs (ControlLogix and PLC5)
- Set-up, editing, networking, and troubleshooting of controls networks (DeviceNet, ControlNet, Ethernet, etc.)
- Manage control system servers, logic controllers, software and backups.
- Maintain a progress schedule that meets project milestones
- Implement and validate the system design
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and instrument problems
- Machine safety systems/devices (E Stops, Light Curtains, guard interlocks, etc.)
Qualifications
- 5+ years Instrumentation, Electrical, and Controls Maintenance experience in a continuous process manufacturing environment.
- Broad knowledge of discipline including Studio 5000 software , Allen-Bradley PLC’s (all families)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.S. in Engineering or related field (electrical or mechanical)
- Ability to modify controls for desired results
- Experience with Ignition SCADA software
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Detailed orientated with strong statistical, process modeling and systems theory
Additional Information
Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $80,000 USD - $126,500 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
