Junior Solar Project Design Engineer

Role Overview:
We’re looking for a curious and detail-oriented Junior Solar Project Design Engineer to support our solar project design team. If you’re excited about clean energy, have basic to advanced CAD and solar modeling experience, and want to grow your technical chops alongside experienced engineers.

You’ll assist in developing early-stage project layouts, interpreting site plans, and supporting our electrical design team. This is a great opportunity to work with experienced professionals and grow into a lead engineering role over time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support senior engineers in creating solar layouts using Helioscope and AutoCAD.
• Assist in reviewing site plans, structural drawings, and utility data for project feasibility.
• Help draft electrical one-line diagrams and construction plan sets.
• Organize and update project drawings, as-builts, and documentation.
• Perform basic system production simulations (PVSyst or similar) with guidance.
• Support interconnection and permitting tasks as needed.
• Contribute to estimating energy generation and conducting preliminary design reviews.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, or related field) or relevant work/internship experience.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and at least one solar modeling tool (Helioscope, PVSyst, etc.).
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and solar PV components.
• Interest in learning NEC requirements related to solar design.
• Comfortable working remotely and independently when needed.
• Eager to grow in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Bonus Points For:

• Coursework or certifications in solar design, energy systems, or sustainable engineering.
• Internship or co-op experience in the solar or renewable energy field.
• Exposure to energy modeling, electricity rates, or cost estimating.

Ideal candidates will have:

1. The ability to interpret site plans and construction drawings.
2. Hands-on experience creating conceptual designs using Helioscope.

• Client Relationship : You will be directly working with the client. This means that you will communicate with the client, provide services, and address any client-related matters independently.
• Payments : All payments for your services will be handled by the client. Elevate and Delegate is not involved in processing your payroll. Your salary will directly go to you. 
• Vacation Leaves and Holidays : While we may have recommendations or guidelines regarding vacation leaves and holidays, the decision is entirely at the discretion of the client. You are expected to align your schedule with the client’s business needs and any specific policies or preferences they may have in this regard. 

Salary : $900-$1200
