Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation ranges for this position are between $70,000 - $90,000.
We are looking for a highly skilled Instructional Strategy and Design Specialist to support executing the strategy around the multi-faceted instructional value of our Discovery Education Experience product. This professional owns key initiatives that require the application of curriculum, instructional design expertise, and project management skills to deliver high-quality instructional resources for our educators and students in grades K-5. In this role, you will work collaboratively with team members across our product organization and other teams within the company, including product marketing and our K-12 sales organization, ensuring our instructional support offerings meet the needs of our customers.

In This Role You Will:
Manage Complex and Dynamic Projects
- Assist in designing and refining flexible models for instructional resources across multiple grade bands and subject areas that support customers’ needs within DE Experience
- Lead priority content projects that include evaluation of data and usage analytics, market research, and customer feedback
- Develop lesson/activity prototypes in DE’s Studio software, including content management of design files, and host review meetings to inform development
Curriculum Design
- Develop lesson/activity prototypes in DE’s Studio software, including content management of design files, and host review meetings to inform development
- Perform analyses of instructional standards, curriculum and media to inform lesson/activity development and curation of content.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Respond and provide information related to trends and effective instructional practices in K-12 education
- Interacts with senior management, executives, and/or major customers which frequently involves negotiating matters of significance to the organization; reconciles multiple stakeholder views to drive business results
- Present to and collaborate with key stakeholders (e.g., research and analytics, marketing, design, etc.) to drive outcomes that support an integrated go-to-market plan

Credentials and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in education with a background in teaching, curriculum development, instructional design, professional development, educational consulting, or related role
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in instructional design is highly desirable
- Ability to travel 5-10% as needed for team development, conferences, etc.
- Legal right to work in the United States
