Job Title: Accounting Specialist

Reports To: Finance Director

Summary

Assists with all financial duties. Processing and maintaining accurate records of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and Payroll.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collect and deposit monies from accounts receivable.
  • Code accounts payable for Director of Finance to approve.
  • Responsible for all accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Monitors credit card disputes and prepares appropriate bills and statements.
  • Investigates issues for account receivables and account payables.
  • Processes payroll.
  • Maintain accurate records for receipts and invoices.
  • Process monthly Medicaid funding billing for residential and day services.
  • Supports annual audit process.
  • Performs Bank reconciliations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • None

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent education level.
  • Two years financial/accounting administrative experience with a basic understanding of accounting principles.
  • Experience in computers to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Quick Books. Payroll ecperience with Paylocity a plus.
  • Excellent typing accuracy.
  • 18 years or older.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain certification in CPR/First Aid.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain HIPAA and Confidentiality Agreements.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a driver’s License.
  • Must be able to pass a 10-panel drug test.
  • Must pass a background check including criminal record and driving record.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty and responsibility.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
  • Outstanding math and research skills.
  • An aptitude for efficient time management and priority setting of multiple tasks.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and walking.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms, occasionally above shoulder level.
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
