Systems Engineer - Hybrid

Description

Alliance InfoSystems, LLC, a Managed Service Provider (MSP), headquartered in Hunt Valley, MD has an opportunity for a Systems Engineer for its Engineering Department.  This opportunity is ideal for a dedicated and skilled engineer who is passionate about technology and committed to ensuring that our clients' IT environment remains reliable, secure, and efficient. The role operates under moderate supervision.

What will the Systems Engineer do (Summary)?

• Lead a wide range of projects/deployments.
• Provide escalation support to our helpdesk.
• Take ownership of issues until resolution.
• Responsible for end-to-end deployment of networking equipment, including unboxing, configuring, and installing firewalls, switches, and access points. Tasks include migrating existing configurations to new hardware and ensuring seamless integration into the network environment.
• Manage  the complete setup and migration of server environments, including physical server deployments, physical-to-virtual conversions, and transitions from on-premises infrastructure to cloud-based platforms.
• Advise team members and clients on best practices, advanced troubleshooting, and system design. 
• Design and implement customized IT solutions to meet client needs--primarily migrations from on premise solutions to cloud solutions.
• Design and implement the following:
  • Virtual  server environments
  • Storage area networks
  • Networking solutions
  • Cloud hosted servers in Azure
  • Microsoft 365 Exchange Online migrations
  • File server to SharePoint migrations
  • Microsoft Active Directory to Entra ID migrations
  • Security  around Microsoft 365 environments via Conditional Access Policies, Configuration Policies, Compliance Policies, Mobile Device Management, etc.

Requirements

Do you have what it takes?

Successful candidate will have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer field or equivalent
• 5+ years’ experience designing, implementing, and supporting Windows Server and Microsoft 365 environments
• MSP Experience Required
• Proficiency in systems administration, virtualization, and network infrastructure
• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server environments. Including Active Directory, DHCP, and DNS.
• Strong ability to organize and manage multiple tasks utilizing effective time management skills
• Strong ability to follow through on assigned tasks/projects with minimal supervision
• Strong documentation skills 
• Excellent communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to flex in various environments and learn new technology quickly
• Position requires 25% travel to client sites (primarily local).
