Acelab is the all-in-one building materials hub for the Architecture, Construction, and Engineering industry. Acelab streamlines material selection, comparison, and management for architects and engineers with AI-powered product recommendations. Conversely, Acelab empowers building material suppliers and manufacturers to unlock specification growth by providing them a strategic Go-to-Market channel to accelerate their product adoption.

Our team is seeking a Materials Research Specialist, to join our AEC Customer Experience team with project delivery and materials selection experience in the architecture or construction industry. This role is integral to supporting our Director of Materials Research in implementing historical materials data and delivering targeted product recommendations for our partners. This role will be require deep collaboration with the CX team to drive impactful outcomes for both our Vendor Partners and AEC Users.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Materials Research to review, coordinate, and deliver customer implementations.
  • Analyze and prepare historical customer data (e.g., spec sheets, finish schedules, submittals) for handoff to our data team for product uploads.
  • Leverage your knowledge of the North American building product market, third-party material certifications, and performance criteria (e.g. R-values, U-values, OITC, STC) to understand customer support needs.
  • Monitor active projects research and user activity on Acelab to identify opportunities for proactive customer support and targeted partner recommendations.
  • Research and recommend partner products aligned with customer project requirements and material selection criteria.
  • 3+ years of full-time experience in AEC, project delivery, or project management in the US
  • Preferred: Masters Degree in Architecture or a related field
  • Expertise in materials selection for built environment projects with an emphasis on building company standards.
  • Proficiency in reviewing drawing sets, project manuals, submittals, and specifications for complex building projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines across a series of fast-paced projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, including client management and expectation-setting.
  • Familiarity with the latest developments in AI database tools, workflows, and prompt engineering.
