Purpose:

 

Abbvie Product Development Science and Technology (PDS&T) Analytical Development – Waltham is responsible for CMC analytical development activities for antibody drug conjugates (ADCs). We are building a team of highly skilled scientists and technical leaders in ADC development to drive the advancement of targeted cancer therapies to improve patient’s lives. The Analytical Development- Waltham team is responsible for late-phase to commercial method development, optimization, validation, advanced characterization, process development support, regulatory authoring, and control strategy for ADCs. The team works cross-functionally with process development, regulatory, and quality within the Abbvie network and with contract manufacturing organization and contract laboratories. The Analytical Development – Waltham team is searching for an analytical lead responsible for optimizing and delivering robust methods, reliable results to support process development, designing and implementing automation technologies for mAbs and ADCs. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical analytical background and the ability to lead an analytical team, manage complex projects, and effectively communicate cross-functionally.             

Responsibilities:

 

    • Lead analytical team, translating development objectives into actionable analytical activities.
    • Provide technical expertise to analysts in physiochemical analytical methods such as SEC, CE-SDS and iCIEF.
    • Establish collaborations across the organization to support method optimizations and transfers to PDST analytical teams.
    • Design and implement robust automation technologies to provide efficient data collection and analysis.
    • Manage and prioritize analysis to support multiple ADC programs.
    • Interpret and identify data trends in key analytical release and stability assays.
    • Act as the principal contact for all stakeholders and balance conflicting expectations between PDS&T and Analytical areas.
    • Communicate project strategy, key issues, and risks to relevant teams and escalate risks and facilitate resolution within/across functional areas.

 

 

Qualifications

    • PhD in analytical chemistry or related field with 8 years of related experience; Master’s Degree with 14 years of related experience
    • Technical expertise in CMC analytical chemistry
    • Demonstrated ability to function as a principle investigator, generating original technical ideas and research or development strategies
    • Interacts well with diverse groups within function and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators.
