KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Industry Expertise: Minimum of 5 years of capital equipment sales experience, particularly with technologies that support food manufacturing and packaging operations (such as weighing and checkweighing machines, vertical and horizontal form/fill/seal machines, automated packaging systems, and metal detection systems).
- Authorization: Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Travel: Ability to travel a minimum of 51% with extensive travel throughout Central and South America.
- Passport: Valid passport required for international travel.
- Language: Bilingual in Spanish is a required.

JOB FUNCTION: This role is responsible for the direct sales and promotion of automatic, checkweigher, industrial, and engineered products to end users, agents, and OEM partners throughout Central and South America. Also responsible for maintaining and growing the agent/OEM network. The position requires assessing, developing, and executing strategic sales plans to grow market share, expand channel partnerships, and meet corporate objectives.
The role includes managing agency networks, nurturing OEM relationships, providing market feedback, and contributing to operational planning. Frequent international travel is required.
TERRITORY: Latin America Territory assignments may change based on business needs and at the manager’s discretion.
Preferred residency in Southern U.S. (Dallas, Houston, Atlanta) with direct flight into Latin America.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Drive sales growth in emerging Latin American markets by meeting or exceeding KPI’s and sales targets and by increasing awareness of Genuine Yamato Parts and services.
- Identify, onboard, and support agents and OEM partners; maintain strong relationships and ensure alignment through joint business planning and performance evaluation across Latin America.
- Conduct market research, develop go-to-market strategies, and implement tactical plans aligned with Yamato’s objectives.
- Serve as the primary liaison between partners and internal Yamato teams (e.g., Sales, Product Management, Marketing).
- Provide product training and ongoing support to ensure partners are well-equipped to promote and sell solutions.
- Establish performance benchmarks, evaluate agent and OEM partners effectiveness, implement improvement plans, and optimize channel productivity.
- Deliver accurate sales forecasts and performance insights using Salesforce and internal reporting tools for Latin America.
- Present products and services to end users/decision makers. Negotiate and close on sales opportunities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with all departments (primarily Applications, Engineering, and Project Management) to support territory initiatives.
- Develop and maintain proficient knowledge of all Yamato equipment and applications.
- Attend in-person sales meetings in Grafton, WI, and participate in domestic and international trade shows, as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preferred residency in Southern U.S. (Dallas, Houston, Atlanta) with direct flight into Latin America.
- Bachelor of Science degree, 5 to 10 years related packaging experience and/or training, or equivalent of combination of education and experience.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (verbal and written) required.
- Must be able to read, understand, and translate contracts accurately and quickly.
- Capital equipment sales experience highly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills required.
- Technical skills of Windows based software, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook,
- and Access.
- Able to handle short periods of time in cold, damp or warm plant environments during customer/prospect visits.
- Ability to climb ladders and mezzanines averaging 15 feet in height.
- Ability to travel a minimum of 51% with extensive travel throughout Central and South America.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and must be insurable.
- Requires a valid passport to travel outside of the United States.
