Job Description

Description

Xona is building the next generation of satellite navigation — a high-performance, resilient alternative to GPS powered by a commercial constellation of low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites. We are on a mission to unlock a new era of autonomy, advanced mobility, and infrastructure resilience by delivering precise, secure, and robust positioning services to the world.

We’re not here to incrementally improve GNSS. We’re here to redefine it from the ground up.

Xona is seeking a skilled PNT Test Engineer to join our team. As a Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and certification of next-generation LEO GNSS downstream applications. Collaborating closely with our navigation and software engineers, you will conduct end-user navigation performance tests and analyses with Xona LEO-based signals. Additionally, you'll engage with our product and business teams, as well as external customers and partners, ensuring the quality and reliability of our satellite system.

What you'll do:

· Conduct RF testing and develop RF system-level test methods and verification plans.

· Perform hardware simulation, lab testing, hardware-in-the-loop testing, data processing, and field testing.

· Manage projects and interface with external partners to ensure successful collaboration.

· Work effectively in a team environment, contributing to the development of state-of-the-art solutions.

· Communicate effectively through written reports and verbal presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Geomatics, Aerospace, or related field, or equivalent experience.

• Knowledge of RF testing and RF system-level test methods.

• Experience with hardware simulation, lab testing, and field testing.

• Strong project management skills and ability to collaborate with external partners.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• To comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the United States (i.e. Green Card holder), or other protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with GPS/GNSS technology.

• Familiarity with GNSS Interface Control Documents (ICD) and data/file formats such as RINEX, sp3, NMEA.

• Experience with LEO satellite signals in navigation.

• Proficiency in novel GNSS simulator and receiver qualification.

• Understanding of modelling jamming, interference, and multipath environments.

• Familiarity with SDRs, GNU Radio, and GNSS SDR.

• Programming skills in Python, C++, Matlab.

• Experience with Git and the Git workflow.

• Self-starter with a drive for excellence.
