Waymo's Technical Program Managers are accountable for Waymo's roadmap execution by providing thoughtful cross-functional planning, clarity, and proactive risk management. In the face of complex technical and operational challenges with no established playbooks to follow, we act with thoughtful urgency, driving conversations, discussions, and outcomes. Our team partners closely with every function of Waymo to structure, own and drive work towards real-world deployments of the Waymo Driver across platforms and geographies.
You will:
- Collaborate across hardware, software, and operations teams to align and meet company goals and priorities
- Keep track of progress on helping teams manage and improve the capabilities, efficiency, usability, scalability, and performance of the Simulator
- Partner with technical leads, product managers, and program managers to drive execution on cross functional hardware and software efforts
- Lead proactive risk management efforts and contingency plans across teams to deliver on the program
You have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- 6+ years of experience with software and hardware integration experience
- 5+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager managing end to end large scale programs in a software engineering environment
- Experience work cross functionally across multiple organizations and stakeholders to deliver on complex programs
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, effectively conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
We prefer:
- Extensive experience with autonomous driving or robotics projects
- Prior experience working in software and hardware development
- Familiarity with reliability engineering and operations
- Experience with Machine Learning or AI technologies
- Master's Degree in a related technical field or MBA
The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
