Job Description

The Payroll Analyst supports accurate and timely payroll processing for U.S. and Canada employee populations. This role collaborates cross-functionally with HR, Benefits, Finance, and external vendors to ensure payroll inputs are validated, payroll regulations are followed, and employee compensation is delivered with precision and care. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented payroll professional who demonstrates critical thinking, accountability, and a strong desire to grow within a dynamic payroll environment.

The Payroll Analyst also assists in the maintenance of payroll procedures, audits, reporting, and contributes to ongoing process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately prepare, validate, and submit payroll data to third-party vendors (ADP GlobalView, eTime) for U.S. and Canadian populations.
  • Reconcile payroll input files from various sources including timekeeping, benefits, stock, relocation, rewards, retirement, and deferred compensation.
  • Perform pre- and post-payroll audits to identify discrepancies and ensure integrity of pay results.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local payroll tax laws, wage and hour laws, and overtime regulations.
  • Assist in calculating and processing off-cycle payments, pay corrections, garnishments, and adjustments.
  • Support quarterly and year-end tax reconciliations, filings, and distribution of W-2s/T4s.
  • Collaborate with HR, Benefits, and internal partners to resolve employee pay-related inquiries with professionalism and discretion.
  • Participate in system upgrades, UAT testing, payroll projects, and process documentation.
  • Maintain and update payroll procedures, workflows, and knowledge base materials.
  • Identify trends and recurring issues to support root cause analysis and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD) University Recruiting Only: Master’s Degree without experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
  • Experience with multi-state U.S. payroll and familiarity with Canadian payroll processes is a plus
  • Working knowledge of ADP (GlobalView, eTime) and Workday HRIS
  • Strong Excel skills for data validation and reconciliation
  • Understanding of wage and hour compliance, garnishment processing, and payroll tax fundamentals
  • Ability to manage sensitive employee data with integrity and confidentiality
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 92,300.00 to 130,650.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
