Vast is looking for a Financial Technical Product Manager, reporting to the Sr. Manager of Information Systems. This role will lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise-level finance and ERP systems that support the core operations of our space infrastructure initiatives. As Vast builds artificial-gravity, human-rated space stations, these systems are foundational to driving financial insight, control, and scalability across the company.
This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the full product lifecycle for finance-related information systems initiatives, from requirements gathering through launch and continuous improvement.
- Partner closely with stakeholders across Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain and Legal to define the vision, roadmap, and priorities for financial systems.
- Serve as the primary liaison between cross-functional teams to translate business needs into system requirements.
- Align ERP configurations and customizations with financial controls, compliance requirements, and business objectives.
- Manage system implementations and enhancements, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with business goals.
- Oversee system testing, validation, training, and user acceptance to ensure successful deployment and adoption.
- Ensure financial systems are scalable, secure, audit-compliant, and optimized for performance.
- Drive integration of finance platforms with upstream and downstream systems (e.g., procurement tools, billing systems, BI platforms).
- Maintain and evolve a product roadmap that supports organizational growth and finance transformation goals.
- Monitor financial system performance, conduct gap analyses, and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency gains.
- Stay informed on ERP trends, financial technology innovations, and regulatory changes.
- Build and deliver training materials and change management programs to drive user engagement and proficiency.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for system architecture, processes, and configurations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Finance, Business, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- 4+ years of experience in product management, business systems analysis, or ERP system ownership with a focus on financial systems.
- Strong understanding of finance and accounting processes, including GL, AP, AR, FP&A, fixed asset management, procurement, cost accounting, and compliance.
- Demonstrated experience with financial reporting, audit standards, and compliance.
- Proven track record of delivering cross-functional technology solutions on time and within scope.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and competing priorities.
Preferred Skills:
- Hands-on experience with ERP platforms such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Infor.
- Understanding of advance compliance requirements including SOX, DCAA and FAR.
- Experience managing implementations or major enhancements in ERP platforms.
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence) for issue tracking and documentation.
- Experience in system architecture, data modeling, and master data governance.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies, sprint planning, and backlog grooming.
- Background in Aerospace, Defense, or high-growth, regulated industries.
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and balancing strategic priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Pay Range
- Technical Product Manager: $90,000 - $130,000
- Senior Technical Product Manager: $120,000 - $150,000
- Staff Technical Product Manager: $135,000 - $175,000
