The Finance Summer Intern will support the Finance Department in performing a variety of essential functions in a fast-paced, healthcare-oriented business environment. This internship is designed to offer hands-on exposure to financial operations, analysis, and reporting in support of organizational decision-making. Over the 4-week period, the intern will rotate through key finance and accounting functions, participate in cross-departmental collaboration, and work on value-adding projects. The internship will conclude with a presentation to leadership outlining project contributions and key learnings. This is an in-person role in Dallas, TX.
Requirements
Core Responsibilities
· Assist in preparing and analyzing financial reports including budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
· Support month-end closing activities such as journal entries, account reconciliations, and expense tracking.
· Participate in cost analysis, pricing model evaluations, and review of vendor contracts.
· Contribute to audits by gathering documentation and supporting internal compliance checks.
· Help monitor accounts payable/receivable activity and vendor payment schedules.
· Develop and present a capstone project or case study to the leadership team at the conclusion of the internship.
· Learn the financial structure and regulatory environment of government-funded healthcare services.
· Attend and contribute to departmental and cross-functional meetings to gain insight into broader business operations.
Qualifications
· High School diploma or equivalent.
· Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or other business related area.
· Ability to work cross-functionally is independently driven and is a self-starter.
· Proficient written and verbal communications skills.
· Strong in computer skills such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Proficient organizational and accountability skills.
