Purpose
The Alumni Events Student Associate will assist in the planning and execution of high-profile events in a multitask environment, as well as a variety of administrative tasks for the Alumni Relations and Development office.
Responsibilities
Print nametags, RSVP lists, and prepare other event materials
Complete mail merges, general clerical tasks, and data entry
Organize event supplies and inventory
Manage nametag table, event setup, breakdown, and other logistics
Research venues and other possible vendors
Assist with donor stewardship projects and other special projects
Prepare pre- and post-event reports
Greet alumni with a professional demeanor
Arrive on time for work and maintain a reliable attendance record
Dress in office casual attire
Other office, events, and development duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin as an undergraduate student
Meet minimum eligibility requirements for student employment
Authorized to work in the United States
Ability to work the entire 2025-26 academic year
Preferred Qualifications
Previous customer service experience
Knowledge or interest in event planning
Knowledge and/or experience with UT policies and procedures and VIP database
Salary Range
$17 per hour
Working Conditions
Typical office environment.
Repetitive use of a keyboard.
Work may be performed at the Law School or off-campus for some events.
Some evening or weekend hours will be required.
Work Schedule
Must be available to work at least 10 hours per week, preferably in 3+ hour shifts.
Position begins September 1, 2025 (potentially sooner if available).
Most work can be completed independently on a schedule that the employee determines with oversight and direction regarding deadlines and deliverables.
Work may be scheduled flexibly during core business hours of Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
Must be available to work at signature events. Dates include September 19, October 24, November 22, 2025, and April 17-18, 2026.
Eligible for rehire for next semester based on performance.
