As the University advances the vision outlined in Notre Dame 2033: A Strategic Framework, the Undergraduate Enrollment team is seeking an innovative, mission-oriented, strategic leader for the position of Director of Strategic Analytics & Reporting.
The Undergraduate Enrollment Division works to open doors to a Notre Dame education, empowering students to pursue, discover, and share knowledge, truth, and faith as a powerful means for good. Reporting to the Executive Director for Enrollment Management, this pivotal role will be instrumental in shaping the future of Notre Dame's student body by leveraging data to inform critical decisions across all aspects of enrollment, including prospective student recruitment and outreach, application generation, admissions decision-making, and operational optimization, yield management, and matriculation. The Director of Strategic Analytics & Reporting will lead the development of a comprehensive data analytics and reporting framework that shapes strategy, optimizes operations, and guides decision-making, ultimately empowering the Enrollment Division to achieve its strategic goals and advance Notre Dame’s distinct mission. Collaborating closely with senior leadership and colleagues across the division and campus, this position will identify key questions, design insightful analyses, and translate complex data into actionable intelligence.
Specific responsibilities of the position include the following:
Develop, lead, and execute a strategic vision for data analytics and reporting within the Enrollment Division, aligning with the University's overall mission and enrollment goals.
Build and maintain predictive models, dashboards, and reports that provide actionable insights into recruitment, yield, financial aid, melt, retention, and other key enrollment metrics.
Collaborate with the Vice President for Undergraduate Enrollment, Assistant Vice Presidents, and other divisional leaders to understand their data needs and deliver tailored analytical solutions.
Conduct segmentation analysis to identify key audiences for marketing, recruitment and outreach.
Conduct sophisticated analyses and predictive modeling to identify trends, forecast outcomes, and evaluate the effectiveness of enrollment strategies.
Oversee the collection, cleaning, and validation of data from various sources, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
Communicate complex data findings and recommendations clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences through compelling visualizations and presentations.
Stay abreast of best practices and emerging trends in data analytics, higher education enrollment, and technology.
Contribute to the development and implementation of data-informed budget strategies that optimize resource allocation and support enrollment goals.
Support the development of data-driven strategies for recruiting a talented and mission-aligned student body.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators such as funnel conversion rates, scholarship effectiveness, etc.
Analyze the impact of financial aid and scholarship policies and outreach and communication strategies on prospective student engagement and yield.
Develop and own the portfolio of dashboard and reporting systems for real-time visibility into the enrollment pipeline, ultimately providing accurate forecasts for applications, admits, enrolls, and revenue at multiple points throughout the cycle.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
5+ years of experience in higher education or a similar industry
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Proven experience in developing and implementing data-driven strategies that have resulted in measurable improvements.
Strong proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Python, SAS, SPSS) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Slate) and student information systems (e.g., Banner).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
Exceptional communication (written and oral), presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with multiple stakeholders.
A strong understanding of enrollment management principles and practices in a highly selective university environment.
