United Way Miami is ISO a Marketing & Communications Intern who’s excited to roll up their sleeves, unleash their creativity, and help us share our story and brand with “Only in Dade” and beyond. We’ve got a world-renowned brand to grow, and content to create.

Working Schedule: Hybrid 2 days from home, 3 days on site (25 hrs a week)
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Campaign Support: Be part of brainstorming ideas and executing campaigns that leave a mark.
- Comms & PR:
- Assist with internal and external communication, press releases, media alerts, and outreach.
- Maintain and grow the media contact list
- Website: refresh the content and ensure information is accurate and up to date
- Social media: Support the Social Media manager with crafting, scheduling, and analyzing posts that people engage with. Brainstorm ideas and implement creative social media posts to build our social media followers.
- Digital Media Library:
- Attend United Way events to help capture content for Digital Media libraries and media interviews.
- Assist with digital media libraries, including sourcing, organizing, and uploading final photos and/or videos to corresponding sites, such as Flickr and YouTube.
- Content Creation: Write copy, blog intros, or newsletter lines that make people click for more.
- Brand Analytics: Track the magic (aka metrics) and see how the ideas perform.
Guiding you along the way: This position reports to the AVP of Marketing and the AVP of Communications (depending on project and needs). You may not know now how to do some of these things, but we promise you will learn.
United Way Miami’s social media platforms include Instagram, Facebook, X (formerly known as Twitter), LinkedIn, and YouTube.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field.
- Demonstrates intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to share creative and innovative ideas.
- Strong attention to detail, especially in grammar, spelling, and written communication.
- Highly collaborative with a team-oriented mindset.
- Enthusiastic about creative expression through writing, design, and digital trends (including memes).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Zoom.
- Familiarity with content creation tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud is a plus, though not required.
