Senior / Staff / Lead Manufacturing Engineer
(Advanced Manufacturing — Defense & Precision Engineering)
Position Summary:
We’re looking for a highly experienced, driven, and disciplined Senior/Staff/Lead Manufacturing Engineer to lead the design and optimization of precision steel manufacturing processes critical to U.S. national defense. With at least 7+ years of proven experience in high-volume manufacturing, you'll leverage your expertise to ensure the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and reliability, operating within rigorous ISO 9001 compliance standards.
This is a fast-paced, mission-critical role requiring hands-on leadership, precision engineering, and relentless dedication to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and optimize manufacturing processes for defense-critical steel components, emphasizing quality, efficiency, and repeatability.
Utilize CAD tools (SolidWorks / AutoCAD) to engineer robust factory layouts, tooling solutions, fixtures, and equipment configurations that maximize precision, throughput, and uptime.
Lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) processes, ensuring all equipment and processes meet rigorous quality and operational readiness standards.
Develop and maintain Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) to ensure consistent quality and compliance with ISO 9001 and industry best practices.
Champion lean manufacturing initiatives to identify and eliminate waste, accelerate output, and drive measurable improvements in operational efficiency.
Collaborate proactively with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Maintenance) to rapidly address and resolve manufacturing issues in real time.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
Experience: 7+ years in high-volume, precision manufacturing environments.
Demonstrated ability to deliver under tight deadlines and demanding operational pressures.
Proven track record in project leadership and process improvement initiatives within fast-paced, high-stakes manufacturing operations.
Expert-level proficiency with SolidWorks or AutoCAD for manufacturing and production tooling design.
Extensive experience operating within ISO 9001 certified environments and knowledge of relevant quality standards.
