Summary of Position:                       

The Learning and Development Specialist will utilize best practices in teaching and learning to support the training team in building training opportunities for client partners and Professional Development sessions for Tutor.com employees. In addition, the Learning and Development Specialist will be responsible for curating and delivering training for High-Dosage Tutoring Tutors.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. In collaboration with the Senior Learning and Development Manager, create training for the Tutors serving the High Dosage Tutoring and the On-Demand Tutoring product.
  2. Research industry trends in high-dosage and high-impact tutoring to be used for training and learning opportunities for our tutors.
  3. Conduct analysis of client partner needs for training and customize training modules or live sessions to meet those needs.
  4. Support the Training and PD Team in developing engaging digital content for clients and tutors on a variety of subject matter topics as well as the tutoring practice, in general.
  5. Present training content for stakeholders across the K-12 and Higher Education markets.
  6. In collaboration with the Training and PD team, lead webinars and presentations on a variety of topics.
  7. In collaboration with other Training and PD Team members, research, create, and present professional learning opportunities for employees within the Tutor.com organization.
  8. Manage training templates and collaborate with Customer Success Managers to customize customer training.
  9. Learn new Tutor.com proprietary technologies and construct training for both internal and external participants.
  10. Manage and troubleshoot learning spaces such as SharePoint, LMS, Teams, Zoom, etc.
  11. Audit current LMS courses to ensure all information is up to date.
  12. Other duties, as needed.

Education, Background, Experience & Qualifications:

  • 2 years-experience in a related position.
  • Must have experience in the education field. Preference given to applicants with experience in K-12 and higher education teaching or training.
  • Experience designing learning materials and modules. Preference given to applicants with experience with Articulate 360 and/or LearnUpon LMS.
  • Experience with adult learning theories.
  • Experience with video editing software. Preference given to applicants with experience with Camtasia.
  • Commitment to professional growth, demonstrated by ability to provide, receive, and apply constructive feedback and continued development of professional skills.
  • Highly engaged, motivated, and driven to solve problems, recommend changes, and take on additional responsibilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail as demonstrated by efficient time management to ensure all deadlines are met with high quality.
  • Ability to communicate, both written and oral, with concise, empathetic, constructive language while maintaining professionalism and perspective throughout.
  • Must be comfortable with technology and highly proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Forms, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams).
  • Able to work well in a team environment and to motivate and support team members.
  • Self-directed as demonstrated by the ability to work independently, as needed.
  • Solid understanding of teaching/tutoring and learning in an online environment.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree required.
  • All candidates must be US residents and legally eligible to work in the US.
  • High-speed internet access required.
  • Willing to travel up to 5%.

Salary: $49,600.00 to $65,600.00 per year, based on experience, geographical zone and a 40-hour work week.

The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
