ABOUT THE POSITION

The Director of Marketing is responsible for upholding and enhancing the prestigious brand of The Riviera Country Club, ensuring all communications and marketing efforts reflect the Club’s exclusivity, tradition, and sophistication. This role focuses on member engagement, internal communications, and event marketing, without public outreach or external membership promotions. Additionally, the Director of Marketing oversees branding and communications for the Club’s non-profit initiatives and high-profile sporting events, ensuring alignment with the Club’s refined image. Key responsibilities include strategic brand management, member communications, luxury content creation, event marketing, and administrative oversight.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Maintain and refine the Club’s brand identity, ensuring all messaging and materials reflect the elegance, discretion, and exclusivity of the club.

· Oversee the creation of high-quality, members-only marketing materials, including newsletters, event invitations, print collateral, and digital communications.

· Ensure all communications align with the Club’s tradition, prestige, and private nature, avoiding external promotion or public-facing marketing.

· Collaborate with Club leadership to ensure messaging remains consistent with the Club’s history, values, and member expectations. 

· Develop and execute strategies to enhance member engagement, satisfaction, and participation in Club activities and traditions.

· Oversee the production of a private member magazine, website, and app content, ensuring all materials are tailored exclusively for members.

· Manage internal communications, ensuring members are informed about Club events, updates, and special experiences in a discreet and refined manner.

· Work closely with key departments, including Membership, Events, and Operations, to craft personalized and meaningful experiences for members.

· Develop and implement marketing and branding strategies for the Club’s non-profit outreach, ensuring alignment with the Club’s mission and values.

· Oversee the creation of fundraising materials, sponsorship packages, and donor communications to support philanthropic initiatives.

· Craft messaging and outreach strategies that maintain the Club’s discretion while effectively engaging supporters and stakeholders.

· Manage partnerships with select charities and community organizations, ensuring consistent branding and communication strategies.

· Lead the Club’s strategic marketing efforts for internationally and nationally recognized sporting events.

· Collaborate with event organizers, media teams, and corporate partners to ensure the Club’s involvement is positioned with discretion and prestige.

· Oversee the development of event-specific branding materials, ensuring alignment with both the Club’s image and the global significance of the event.

· Manage internal and external communications regarding these events, ensuring members are well-informed while maintaining the Club’s privacy standards.

· Develop VIP and guest experience marketing strategies for high-profile events hosted at the Club.

· Develop and oversee the annual marketing budget, ensuring all expenditures align with the Club’s financial goals and brand standards.

· Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with design agencies, printers, photographers, videographers, and other marketing vendors.

· Direct the creation and curation of digital and print content, ensuring all materials align with the Club’s exclusivity and luxury brand positioning.

· Analyze marketing performance metrics, member engagement data, and event participation to refine strategies and improve communication effectiveness.

· Maintain a comprehensive marketing calendar to coordinate branding efforts, Club events, sporting events, and non-profit initiatives.

· Ensure all marketing activities comply with legal and Club-specific branding guidelines, protecting the integrity of the Club’s image.

· Work closely with Membership, Events, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure a unified and consistent experience for members.

· Regularly report on marketing strategies, campaign effectiveness, and member engagement trends to Club leadership.

· Develop and maintain crisis communication plans to protect the Club’s reputation in the event of unforeseen challenges.

· Be involved in Food & Beverage along with Club events when deemed necessary. 

· All other duties assigned by the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer that reasonably falls within the scope of the position. 

Requirements

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

· Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns.

· Strong understanding of luxury branding, high-end clientele, and exclusive experiences.

· Experience with digital marketing, social media, and content creation.

· Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.

· Proficiency in marketing analytics, CRM systems, and design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, HubSpot).

· Expertise in internal communications, high-end print and digital content creation, and brand storytelling.

· Proficiency in design oversight, editorial direction, and member engagement strategies.

· Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain a refined, polished communication style.

· Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring all materials align with the club’s prestige and legacy.


EDUCATION

· High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

· Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, or a related field


EXPERIENCE

· 5+ years of marketing experience in a luxury, hospitality, or private club environment.


GROOMING

All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per club standards. 

Professional business attire or provided uniform must be worn while at work and on premises.  


OTHER

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.


Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the club. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
