Job Description
How this position supports the vision includes the following, but is not limited to:
Infrastructure administration (including backup, recovery testing, e-mail systems including e-mail web server, internet access, office systems, applications support, VOIP phone system management, shipping systems management).
Support server, network and desktop hardware, software and applications.
Roll out hardware and software to ensure optimal deployment of resources.
Manage small to medium sized projects according to agreed upon budgets and schedules.
Assists with technology planning through ongoing research.
Provide Tier 2+ technical support for Fait end customers, internal staff, and sales reps
Provide Tier 1 technical support for Fait owned eye clinics throughout SE Wisconsin including onsite visits.
Maintain and develop server virtualization environments and virtual servers
Configure and maintain containerized application environments through Kubernetes, managing deployment pipelines, container orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code practices to ensure scalable, resilient, and secure microservices architecture
Deploy applications to on-premises and cloud environments
Firewall and VPN management
Maintain, critique, and further develop and implement security, change control, patch management, compliance, incident response, and access control policies and procedures.
Perform regular vulnerability assessments on Fait’s networks and remediate any found vulnerabilities.
Regularly test, critique, and develop further Disaster Recovery plans.
Maintain client confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
Report to and coordinate projects with CTO.
Deal with outside vendors to accomplish any of the above tasks.
Work as a team with all functional work areas.
Facilitate code/script and configuration reviews when requested
Mentor/train non-senior IT Infrastructure team members when requested
Lead infrastructure projects with 1-2 Infrastructure Admins and/or developers when requested.
Lead knowledge pool/SME meetings when requested
Participate in and provide feedback for hiring interviews when requested
Participate in ticket coverage and on-call support after hours with team rotation.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or relevant IT certifications
8+ years of current experience desired, but not required in network administration of a medium sized network of servers, desktop systems, and communications devices using current technology.
Willingness and aptitude to learn any of the skills below. Existing knowledge and skills are a plus.
Windows Server, Active Directory, and Workstation management
Kubernetes (or equivalent) orchestration for automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications across distributed infrastructure to ensure high availability and efficient resource utilization
Cloud infrastructure and services
Database management
Linux server management
Cisco switch management
Hyper-V and VMware hypervisor management
Solid understanding of coding logic to reverse engineer BASH (Linux)/ Batch (Windows)/Python/other code and scripts to accomplish infrastructure administrative tasks.
Solid troubleshooting and team working skills
Technical writing skills to document developed policies and procedures.
Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously.
Ability to manage projects from conception to completion with little to no support.
High levels of personal accountability; an ability to be responsible for your own actions.

IMPROVING THE SYSTEM
All Fait Associates are responsible for documenting and fixing problems within the system. In addition, this role is responsible for improvement project participation, planning, communicating and implementing solutions where possible.
PERSONAL IMPROVEMENT
Fait will provide resources and support, relevant to the position, for education and training as needed. It is the Associate’s responsibility to seek approval, schedule and participate in education and/or training that will prepare him/her for present and future needs. A post training recap may be required.
