Position Overview

CARIAN is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to oversee the execution of electric transmission, substation, and distribution projects for a utility client. This role will be part of a hybrid delivery model supporting capital project lifecycles from planning through close-out. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, deep familiarity with utility operations, and the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end execution of capital projects across transmission, substation, and distribution scopes

  • Manage scope, schedule, budget, reporting, and risk for multiple active projects

  • Coordinate with internal client departments and external vendors for seamless delivery

  • Oversee contract administration, project documentation, and stakeholder communication

  • Conduct regular check-ins with field teams and escalate key risks or changes

  • Track key performance indicators and report project status to client leadership

  • Drive project planning, execution readiness, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards

  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience managing utility, construction, or engineering projects

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field

  • Experience coordinating across planning, design, procurement, and construction functions

  • Proven success delivering multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects

  • Strong communication and leadership skills; comfortable liaising with clients and vendors

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software

  • PMP Certification (Required)

  • Ability to visit client sites as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with electric utility capital delivery models and outage planning

  • Familiarity with permitting, environmental, and real estate aspects of T&D work
