Position Overview
CARIAN is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to oversee the execution of electric transmission, substation, and distribution projects for a utility client. This role will be part of a hybrid delivery model supporting capital project lifecycles from planning through close-out. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, deep familiarity with utility operations, and the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.
Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end execution of capital projects across transmission, substation, and distribution scopes
Manage scope, schedule, budget, reporting, and risk for multiple active projects
Coordinate with internal client departments and external vendors for seamless delivery
Oversee contract administration, project documentation, and stakeholder communication
Conduct regular check-ins with field teams and escalate key risks or changes
Track key performance indicators and report project status to client leadership
Drive project planning, execution readiness, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards
Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Minimum 7 years of experience managing utility, construction, or engineering projects
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Experience coordinating across planning, design, procurement, and construction functions
Proven success delivering multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects
Strong communication and leadership skills; comfortable liaising with clients and vendors
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software
PMP Certification (Required)
Ability to visit client sites as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with electric utility capital delivery models and outage planning
Familiarity with permitting, environmental, and real estate aspects of T&D work
