Job Description

We’re Tend — Dental Done Differently.

Tend was founded to make going to the dentist something people actually look forward to. We blend thoughtfully designed studios, top-tier clinical care, advanced technology, and a hospitality-driven mindset to create a dental experience that’s human, personalized, and exceptional from start to finish.

Since launching in 2019, we’ve delivered care to over 100,000 patients across New York, Washington DC, Boston, Atlanta, and Nashville. With thousands of five-star reviews and over 650 passionate team members, Tend is one of the fastest-growing and highest-rated dental brands in the country — and we’re just getting started.

Whether you’re delivering care in our studios or supporting our growth behind the scenes, every role at Tend contributes to reimagining the future of dental health — for patients and for the people who care for them.

We’re growing fast — and we’re looking for values-driven, mission-aligned talent to grow with us.

📍 Location: 8 City Blvd, Nashville
#LI-Hybrid

At Tend, we do dentistry differently — and that includes the people behind the scenes who keep us running smoothly. As our Senior Accounts Receivable Manager, you’ll lead the engine of our revenue cycle operations: ensuring timely, accurate, and thoughtful management of our AR process.

We’re not just looking for someone who can do the work — we’re looking for someone who can see what’s next. Someone who digs into data to uncover insights, who builds systems that scale, and who coaches teams to do their best work.

This role will oversee a team of 10+ AR professionals, and it requires a leader who knows the numbers and the people.

Must be located in or near Nashville TN to meet they hybrid requirements. Team is onsite every Tuesday, Wednesday in Nashville, TN.

What You’ll Do

  • Own our end-to-end Accounts Receivable function — including reporting, tracking, forecasting, and resolving aged AR.

  • Download and analyze Accounts Receivable data in Excel to identify trends, gaps, and monthly movement. You’ll help answer: What’s been done? What’s outstanding? Are we improving month over month?

  • Lead a team of 10 AR professionals — responsible for coaching, timecard management, productivity reviews, and performance conversations.

  • Collaborate with Payer Relations and Finance to resolve payment variances and underpayments, and escalate when necessary.

  • Interpret EOBs, denial codes, and payer policies to create smarter, faster resolutions.

  • Develop and refine AR and denial resolution processes that scale with us.

  • Track and manage KPIs: resolved accounts, win-backs, outstanding AR by age, and team productivity.

  • Lead weekly/monthly team check-ins and performance reviews with the goal of continuous improvement.

Who You Are

  • A natural leader who values data and people equally.

  • Someone who can identify a gap, build a process, and coach a team to close it.

  • Curious, collaborative, and eager to make things better — not just maintain the status quo.

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Accounts Receivable, insurance, and denial management, with at least 2 years in a team leadership or management role.

  • Strong experience analyzing AR data in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and using data to track performance trends.

  • A deep understanding of healthcare insurance billing, claim workflows, EOBs, and payer policies.

  • Proven track record of developing and improving RCM/AR processes.

  • Experience leading performance-based teams: timecards, coaching, weekly and monthly accountability.

  • A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills — you know how to bubble up issues and close the loop.

  • Bonus if you have Dental Experience working with Dentrix Ascend software.
