Regional Trade Compliance Manager 

Cincinnati, OH 

Position Description:    

The Regional Trade Compliance Manager (RTCM) will be responsible for ensuring compliance with United States import and export control laws and regulations. The RTCM will provide regulatory interpretation, guidance and training as well as be responsible for drafting and submitting for necessary import and export authorizations. The RTCM reports directly to the Director of Global Trade Compliance and works alongside other RTCMs in the development and continuous improvement of the StandardAero Trade Compliance Office (SATCO). 

Specific Accountabilities

  • Support various Business Units by providing interpretation and guidance of US import and export control laws and regulations, which may include the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the US Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR), the US Customs Regulations (CBP) and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Regulations.
  • Manage program operation and administration in the following areas: US HTS, Schedule B and export product classification, import/export clearance and recordkeeping, US import broker management, US export licensing, use and transfer of export controlled technology, sanctions and denied party lists and other trade compliance related topics and programs as requested.
  • Assist in the implementation, development and continuous improvement of department manuals, policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Develop and deliver trainings regarding applicability of trade compliance regulations through either virtually or in classroom settings. Provide communications and guidance to internal and external customers.
  • Perform annual risk assessments as well as assist in any investigations to include support in the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Assist in the review of export and import clauses in new and amended contracts and provide recommendations accordingly.
  • Serve as primary interface with import/export regulators to address concerns and shape policies as needed.
  • Maintain awareness of changing import/export control laws and regulations and provide analysis regarding applicability and impact to company products and technologies, as well as existing company policies and procedures.
  • Serve as an Empowered Official upon appointment by the Director of Global Trade Compliance.
  • Supervisor and mentor team members of the StandardAero Trade Compliance Office.         

 Position Requirements:              

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Bachelor degree in International Business, Accounting, or Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Willing to travel (30%) domestic and international.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in trade compliance and in an import/export environment, required
  • Ability to (i) understands the internal processes and controls vital to comply with relevant trade compliance regulations, and (ii) has the ability to build relationships with internal business owners to implement and develop these processes
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast pace and high-demanding environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, Screening Tools and Microsoft Office Products

Preferred Characteristics:

  • Minimum 3 years managing import/export operational compliance activities
  • Experience in program assessments and integrations associated with merger and acquisition
  • Experience in aviation industry
