TECH ASSISTANT LEAD Position Summary
Be committed in providing excellent service and compassion in preparing patients for their medical imaging. Work as a team with all SMIL staff to ensure that all modalities stay on time by performing the following duties with speed and accuracy. Responsible for initial Tech Assistant training and ongoing training for all members of the Tech Assistant team.
TECH ASSISTANT LEAD Essential Duties and Responsibilities
In addition to the role of a Tech Assistant the Lead/Trainer duties include:
- Lead by setting a good example.
- Responsible for training all new Tech Assistant on Fuji, department workflow, SMIL homepage etc.
- Assist with coordinating training schedules with new hires and other training demands of the department.
- Provides on the job coaching, mentoring and support to new trainees, including knowledge of new material in a rapidly changing environment.
- Able to trouble shoot and work on a solution in a timely manner.
- Maintains composure in difficult situations that may involve trainees, patients, radiologist and co-workers.
- Assist any department with questions pertaining to Tech Assistant workflow.
- Create an inspiring team environment with open and respectful communications.
- Provide feedback for 60 day evaluations and coaching sessions.
- Being available to team members to address questions and/or concerns when a Tech Assistant Supervisor in not on site.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a medical office; Radiology preferred
- Training experience a plus
Basic computer Skills required
- 2+ years Phlebotomy experience required; IV skills a plus
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- CPR certification
- MA certification a plus
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit and regularly required to stand and walk for long periods of time. Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach, push, pull with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk and hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, ability to adjust focus.
