This is a full time temporary role working 30-40 hours per week. Monday through Thursday is in our Santa Monica, CA office and there is the option to work remotely on Fridays. The typical day is from 9am -6pm.
Duration: Temporary, 60 days with the potential to extend another 30 days
Your Role in the Spotlight
As our Freelance Recruiter, you’ll be a trusted partner in shaping our teams and elevating our hiring process from start to finish:
- Strategic Partnership: Work closely with our Human Resources Director and various hiring managers to assess staffing needs and align recruitment efforts with organizational goals.
- Job Posting Craftsmanship: Draft and promote compelling job postings that captivate the right audience.
- Resume Review & Candidate Vetting: Sort through incoming resumes, evaluate qualifications, and present shortlists of top candidates to hiring managers for review.
- Interview Coordination: Schedule and facilitate phone screens and in-person interviews, ensuring a seamless and professional candidate experience.
- Full-Cycle Recruitment: Manage the hiring journey through every stage — from initial outreach and interview prep to offer extension and onboarding coordination.
- ATS Oversight: Maintain accurate and organized records in our applicant tracking system, leveraging tools like LinkedIn Recruiter to source and manage talent pools.
- Compliance & Policy Alignment: Stay current on employment laws and ensure all recruiting practices adhere to internal policies and relevant regulations.
- Insights & Reporting: Generate weekly recruitment reports that offer clear metrics, candidate progress, and strategic recommendations.
- Team Player: Pitch in on related HR projects and initiatives as needed, bringing flexibility and enthusiasm to each task.
Your Toolkit
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field (preferred)
- A solid 5-year run in recruitment for non-technical roles, ideally within entertainment or media sectors
- Confident in conducting structured interviews and using behavioral-based questioning techniques
- High level of proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and applicant tracking systems
- Advanced experience with LinkedIn Recruiter
- Self-driven with an aptitude to take the reins when needed
- Exceptional communication skills — both written and verbal — with a strong sense of professionalism and empathy.
- Skilled in building and executing effective recruiting strategies across multiple disciplines
- Highly organized and self-motivated, capable of managing competing priorities with efficiency
- Knowledgeable about relevant labor laws and recruitment regulations, particularly within California

The base hourly compensation range for this role is $31.00 to $35.00 per hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates’ relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
