SEO & Content Manager
Job Description
As our SEO & Content Manager, you’ll own and execute our organic growth engine. This role is equal parts technical SEO manager and content distribution lead. You’ll be responsible for ensuring our website content is healthy, discoverable, and continuously growing in authority — while also leading the distribution of compelling thought-leadership content across multiple platforms. Please note this is a hybrid role with in-office expectations 2 days/week in our Mill Valley office.
You’ll work cross-functionally with marketing, product, other internal stakeholders, and external collaborators to bring fresh ideas to life — ensuring our brand’s story reaches the right audience through search, social, and third-party content platforms.
What you will do:
- Audit and optimize our website for search engine visibility using tools like Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and Google Search Console
- Implement on-page SEO improvements and support the optimization of content for organic discovery, including internal linking, schema markup, and meta/title optimization
- Identify and fix broken links, outdated metadata, and other SEO issues
- Collaborate with content and web development teams to improve UX and maintain site health (fix broken links, update redirects, etc.)
- Manage the distribution of our content-flywheel program: “Shop Experts Live”
- Project-manage a proactive content calendar to ensure timely distribution
- Partner with Creative to design compelling assets for a variety of campaigns — spanning organic and sponsored content
- Regularly evaluate content performance metrics and translate insights into actionable improvements
- Manage consultants and agencies to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables
- Distribute and repurpose content across the website and our rented placements: LinkedIn, YouTube, Reddit, Facebook, TikTok, Spotify, and others…
- Tailor each piece of content to platform-specific formats and best practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience in SEO, content marketing, or organic growth roles
- Comfortable using SEO tools like GA4, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog, and working alongside developers
- Know how to optimize content that performs — for both humans and search engines
- Understand the nuances of different social platforms and how to craft platform-native content that aligns with their algorithms
- Able to spot a broken link or unindexed page — and know how to flag or fix it
- Obsessed with keeping content organized, optimized, and discoverable
- Thrive in both strategic and executional work, and enjoy collaborating cross-functionally
- Strong communicator — clear, collaborative, and adaptable in both solo and team environments
Bonus points if you:
- Are a strategic storyteller with experience transforming raw content into digestible assets and clear narratives
