About this role

We’re looking for a frontend-focused Senior Software Engineer to join our Documents Team. This team owns some of the most essential user experiences in Scribe, including viewing and editing Scribes, managing Pages, Embeds, Exports, and supporting key integrations. Your work will shape how users interact with and get value from the core of our product.

As a Senior Engineer, you’ll take ownership of impactful projects, working closely with design, product, and other engineers to deliver high-quality user experiences. You’ll work primarily in our React codebase, bringing features to life with a focus on usability, performance, and polish. We're looking for someone who is thoughtful about users, driven to make an impact, and excited to build great software in a fast-paced environment.

You can expect to

• Build intuitive, performant, and accessible user interfaces in React for the core viewing and editing experience
• Collaborate with design and product to scope and deliver features that solve real user problems
• Own projects end-to-end, from technical design to implementation and launch
• Work with backend engineers to define APIs and data flows that support a seamless frontend experience
• Contribute to code quality and maintainability through thoughtful patterns, testing, and documentation
• Continuously improve the user experience through iteration and attention to detail

• You have 5+ years of engineering experience
• You have extensive experience with React
• You’re a strong advocate for automated testing
• You’ve seen and can implement engineering best practices
• You’re user-centric, empathetic, and passionate about your work

Bonus

• Experience with our frontend stack (TypeScript, NextJS, Tailwind, React Query, React Testing Library, Playwright, shadcn)
• Startup experience (not required, but we build and move fast!)

Compensation

$140k - $250k + equity + benefits
