Title: Efficiency Engineer
Worksite Location: 2151 N Church Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27804
Duties: Draka Elevator Products Inc. seeks Efficiency Engineer in Rocky Mount, NC to drive continuous improvement efforts and share best practices across plants on the North American market. Utilize manufacturing operational excellence model to drive continuous improvement in our manufacturing facility. Collaborate with business and manufacturing teams to identify key problems areas and drive appropriate implementation of solutions. Utilize Lean and Six Sigma tools and techniques to drive continuous improvement efforts. These tools and techniques include SPC, process capability studies, measurement systems analysis, Kaizen, 6S, SMED, TPM, Poka-yoke, and various other problem solving and process improvement tools and methodologies. Manage the product development process of company’s products lines as it relates to customers' needs. Teach, mentor and coach Lean Technicians and Greenbelts to achieve business results through the continuous improvement program. Monitor and evaluate the behavior of product design variables, to ensure the compatibility of results with specifications. Detail technical data, including materials, compounds, conductors, drums, machine selections, scraps, speed and time, and cost detention for all products. Utilize tools to design fiber optical cables and check their critical parameters, in order to ensure their quality to the clients according to the given specifications. Utilize company’s ERP system to control and track all sales, purchases, warehousing, and production activities.
Requirements: Must have a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Must have 2 years of pre- or post-Bachelor's degree experience as an Engineer, or alternate acceptable related occupation. The 2 years of experience must include experience with: engineering processes for wire drawing, stranding, extrusion, regrinding, and wire screening; performing data analysis and creating dashboards utilizing Power BI; project management, including leading projects and providing leadership among different departments of a company; implementing efficiency initiatives in a manufacturing environment such as scrap reduction and labor efficiency; lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement tools; and utilizing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, specifically SAP. Must travel 5% domestically.
