SUMMARY
The Ecommerce Copywriter is responsible for crafting compelling copy that is “on brand” to be used across multiple touchpoints, across all brands. This person’s main responsibilities include writing for marketing emails, SMS, and on site material. Responsibilities include writing copy for digital and traditional advertising mediums, websites, point of sale collateral, social media, product trims, style guides and more. The Ecommerce Copywriter will partner with the Creative Directors, site teams, merchandising and web developers to create well integrated and compelling messaging between visual design and copy.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Write targeted copy for all email and sms related marketing campaigns across direct to consumer brands
Research and apply email copywriting best practices to drive clicks and conversions
Partner with site teams to strategize overall messages to be conveyed to customers
Write clear and persuasive copy for all touch points.
Develop ownable terms for brand specific product attributes (fabrics, performance features, fit, fashion/styling, etc).
Partner with Legal teams to ensure we have the rights to terms and phrases.
Monitor competition and stay abreast of trends.
Proofread all copy and ensure spelling and grammar are perfect.
Analyze and report on optimization tests to improve all around copy based on clicks and conversion
Other duties as needed/assigned within DTC business
Writing content for marketing emails, SMS, promotional on- site material, and general product information
Analyzes impact of content and writing on sales and performance of ecommerce sites
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Experience bringing brand positioning and personality to life through copy
Golf knowledge and prior golf writing experience
Excellent copywriting, editing, proofreading and grammatical skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to oversee multiple simultaneous projects
Strong creative writing abilities
Ability to comprehend corporate and brand initiatives and transform abstract ideas into persuasive and articulate messages
Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritize the most important tasks
Respond to feedback in a timely manner.
Flexible; able to juggle multiple projects and shifting priorities.
Ability to work well in a team and across a variety of roles within creative and business units.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. An open-seating, idea sharing environment, copywriter candidate must be able to work on multiple projects with a variety of distractions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in related field: Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Writing, English, Literature, etc.
Experience in advertising, retail, promotional, creative copywriting preferred
Proven success/case studies
Portfolio of samples
Golf knowledge and writing preferred
