ROLE SUMMARY
The Digital Marketing and Communications Strategist will serve as a key strategic partner to the Chief Banking Officer, overseeing the development and execution of City First Bank’s digital marketing, communications, and brand engagement strategies. The role will enhance brand visibility, support customer and community engagement, and align all messaging with the Bank’s mission and growth priorities. This role bridges strategy and hands-on execution, requiring both creative and analytical strengths, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders across both coasts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing & Brand Strategy
- Develop and lead multi-channel digital marketing campaigns (email, web, social, paid media) to support business and community development goals.
- Define and implement brand identity standards across all platforms and ensure message consistency.
- Optimize the Bank’s website, SEO/SEM efforts, and online user experience to drive engagement.
Communications & Content
- Craft compelling narratives that reflect City First Bank’s values, products, and impact—across newsletters, social media, blogs, press releases, and executive communications.
- Serve as liaison to media, PR agencies, and key partners to manage public relations and earned media.
- Collaborate with leadership and community partners on thought leadership opportunities.
Strategic Initiatives
- Work with teams in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles to align regional outreach with national marketing efforts.
- Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership on communications best practices and market positioning.
- Track and analyze campaign effectiveness and implement improvements using data-driven insights.
Community Engagement & DEI
- Ensure communications strategies reflect the Bank’s commitment to equity, inclusion, and community empowerment.
- Support storytelling and visibility, working directly with L&D/HR teammates and CIO around community development investments, partnerships, and mission impact.
Requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (advanced degree a plus).
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in digital marketing and communications, preferably in financial services, nonprofits, or mission-aligned organizations.
Preferred Education/Experience:
- 5+ years of marketing and communications experience within banking/financial services industry.
- Experience in website design, digital marketing, and social media.
- Experience in data analysis.
- Marketing Project Management experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Required Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with an understanding of brand voice and customer engagement.
- Proficiency in marketing tools (e.g., Google Analytics, HubSpot, WordPress, CRM systems, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Knowledge of compliance requirements for marketing in the financial sector is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, multi-office environment and manage multiple projects with autonomy.

- Strong leadership experience.
- Strong connections with local community organizations and local government.
