Secured Lab Systems Administrator
Job Description
NextGen is seeking motivated, career and customer-oriented technical staff to join our team! The Systems Administrator will assist with establishing and overseeing the day-to-day operations and sustainment of a secured laboratory. The secured laboratory hosts and facilitates software/system prototyping, integration, and testing. The lab is a hybrid configuration to support both on-prem and cloud access. The Systems Administrator also coordinates with other unclassified and classified lab facilities at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), MD and other DoD locations.
\n- Ensure that all IT and related systems are kept secured and functional for use by end-users within the labs.
- Systems are primarily Linux and Windows-based
- Install approved software patches and assist with any network connectivity issues.
- Assist with any Information Assurance (IA) scans and patches that cannot be automatically applied to systems – monitoring the IA compliance of systems in the labs and assisting with any exceptions to policy that may be required.
- Ensure that laboratory systems are secured according to the requirements of the lab authorization.
- Maintain standalone system operating systems security.
- Maintain Program of Record system operating security.
- Maintain Closed Restricted Network (CRN) system operating security not connected to the C5ISR managed CRN.
- Image systems using Program of Record (POR) approved image.
- Perform password resets / account unlocks for locally controlled systems.
- Perform account creation for locally controlled systems.
- Perform other duties as needed to ensure the uninterrupted functioning of IT Systems within the secured lab.
- Perform scripting/automation of recurring processes for locally controlled systems.
- Implement and monitor controls for use of removable media devices IAW draft removable media policies.
- Detailed-oriented with excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- System administrators (SAs) must be designated as Technical Level II (IAT-II) and have completed all required DoD training.
- Linux+ certification
- ACTIVE CLEARANCE LEVEL REQUIRED: Top Secret and ability to obtain SCI eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred (additional years of applicable experience with appropriate certifications may be substituted for the degree).
- IAT Level 2 certification (ex. CompTIA Security+, SSCP, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC).
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience.
- Active Army CAC
- Familiarity with Distributed Common Ground System – Army DCGS-A system
- Familiarity with PM Mission Command systems
- AWS environment implementation
- Familiarity with information assurance policy and procedures
