SUMMARY:

The Director of Human Resources & Talent Development leads Nextern’s people strategy with a primary focus on U.S. operations and collaborative support across our locations in Costa Rica, China, and Vietnam. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role that ensures alignment between our strategy, our people, and our business goals—fueling growth, engagement, and integrity throughout the organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Shape and execute HR strategies that build a high-performing, values-driven culture.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on organizational and people matters.
  • Lead HR alignment and collaboration across global sites.
  • Oversee talent acquisition, onboarding, and performance management across U.S. operations.
  • Design and implement programs that attract, develop, and retain top talent.
  • Drive leadership and technical development programs to build internal capability.
  • Champion recognition, engagement, and retention strategies.
  • Partner with senior leaders on workforce planning, change management, and people analytics.
  • Guide scalability and organizational growth through data-informed HR strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. labor laws and internal ethics policies.
  • Participate in global compliance committee.
  • Ownership of compensation data, payroll processing, benefits, and employee relations programs.
  • Manage HR systems and reporting, leveraging data for strategic insights.
  • Supervise U.S.-based HR staff member and act as a connector across global HR counterparts.
  • Promote consistency, knowledge-sharing, and cultural alignment across sites.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Experience navigating both tactical and executive-level HR challenges.
  • A passion for building strong teams and fostering leadership at every level.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field (master’s preferred)
  • 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Strong foundation in U.S. employment law, HR compliance, and best practices
  • Strong communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
  • Proven ability to build trust, influence leaders, and shape culture
  • Experience working with or alongside international teams a plus

The expected salary range for this position is between $135,000-$190,000 based upon candidates' skills, experience, and qualifications.
