Chief of Staff

Nevoya United States Full-time
$120,000
per year

Job Description

About Nevoya
Nevoya is North America's leading next-generation electric trucking carrier, transforming logistics through AI-native operations and relentless customer focus. The company builds and uses proprietary technology to deliver zero-emissions carrier services to Fortune 500 shippers with superior economics and service to legacy diesel operators. The company has offices in California and Texas, and is backed by globally-renowned investors including Lowercarbon Capital.

Role overview

The Chief of Staff will work directly with Nevoya's CEO across all aspects of the business, aiming to be a strategic partner and execution force-multiplier, turning ideas into action, and driving the company forward by doing so.

Operating with a high degree of autonomy and a broad, cross-functional remit, you will take on direct responsibility for delivering initiatives that will have a significant impact on the business.

In the last quarter, you would have…

  • …designed and built an integration between our pricing team (operating in Google Sheets) and Attio, our CRM.

  • …taken ownership of the due diligence process as investors and other organizations enter into strategic partnerships with Nevoya.

  • …design a hiring process and related materials with our fractional talent leader, implementing everything from interview plans and score cards to candidate emails in our ATS, Ashby.

  • …work alongside our Commercial team to prepare internal and external models and materials for opportunities with Fortune 500 companies.

  • …design and implement the KPI tracking system our executive team uses to steer the business week to week.

  • …assist Nevoya's infrastructure team with modeling and analysis as they expand Nevoya's reach across North America.

  • … and much, much more.

Skills & Qualifications

  • All candidates must have:

    • Bachelor's degree,

    • 5+ years of professional experience in fast-paced, execution-focused roles,

    • Demonstrable track record of delivering high quality output in an environment that can be fluid and uncertain,

    • Strong numeracy: comfort with metrics, financial reporting, and working with large datasets,

    • Exceptional organizational and communication skills both internally and in a client- or investor-facing context,

    • "Completer-finisher" phenotype: you finish the job before moving on to the next thing, including documenting and training others where appropriate,

    • Founder/entrepreneur sense of prioritization and urgency, whether you have been a founder (a plus!) or not.

  • We think outstanding candidates will have some or all of:

    • Management consulting, operations management, investment banking, business operations, or a prior Chief of Staff role on their resumé,

    • Mastery of Excel/Google Sheets and familiarity with one or more CRM, ATS, and customer support platforms (e.g. Salesforce, Attio, Ashby, Gem, ZenDesk, Pylon),

    • Comfort writing SQL queries and building own datasets rather than needing others to do it,

    • Significant experience leading cross-functional projects that include a mixture of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
